Hello Miss Beau, yes if a person wants to improve his status in life especially in Pinas where its really harder to attain that is why you see more poor people than rich, somehow they need to help themselves and not rely on anyone else to take care of their life for them. Ask those Christians around and see how they practice debt-free living. Simplify your life and you wont get stressed out over money. There's a lot of ways to become self-sufficient. What hard work you put in to better your life somehow you will see the fruit of your labor. There is no easy money in the world or get rich quick scheme. People get rich because they know how to handle their money and they have the money sense to make it work for them. Your goal shouldn't be how to become rich overnite but you want to put yourself in a position that your life is comfortable. If you dont have enough every month, find ways to supplement your income. You have healthy bodies you can work two jobs, you can plant veggies in your own backyard so you cut back on your food expenses that way, there are lots of ways. Find a supplemental home-based business that can help sustain your family as well. Any legitimate business will not require you to put down that much money to start on. There are lots of marketing and business scams out there so be careful you dont want to lose money that way.

alam nyo minsan nakaka-inis itong mga "poor". sige sila yawyaw na mahirap ang panahon. pero in reality sila lang ang gumagawa ng sarili nilang problems....such as...anak ng anak. wala na nga money...hala bira pa rin ang panganganak! i remember one woman on TV one time...hingi ng tulong kc wala na sila food...ang anak...THIRTEEN kabuok tawn. one of her sons is in jail. he doesnt want to come out. kasi there....they get to eat regularly.

ito pa isang nakakainis....mga squatter. they dont pay na nga for their "house and lots", sige pa sila reklamo. tapos...kung meron sunog....hayuuuunnnn labasan ang mga TV and washing machines!!! eh ikaw kaya...di ka maiinis?

it does not take much really to support a family of four. korek jud sister streetcar. magtanim ug veggies. kung walang yuta...aw sa kaang gud! sa mga may gusto...may paraan. anyone can do it.... just as long as they are not extravagant. wag lang gyud live beyond someone's means. hay naku!

Mother Dee, trust me i hear that all the time. Lack of education is one of the reasons why and I'm not only talking family planning among all the other issues/problems that needs to be addressed. Do you know that here in America, very practical kaayo mga tao and in fact, you cannot say they are not earning good income in their jobs but still, you'll see them planting in pots even spices they use for cooking like parsley, sage, rosemarie and thyme I think pinoys ra gyud ing ana most likely sab nakuha na sa spanish colonial mentality nga attitude. Once those pinoys come to the U.S. there is a change of attitude. At first mga arti kaayo na sila. Just because they left the Philippines as Managers etc. they have this attitude that they are high up there, but give it time like a year in the U.S., tan-awa ra mo change na ilang mga attitude for the better and they learn to adjust to the life here and they lose that ego power trip. Daghan baya dire pinoys that used to be dentista sa ato pag abot dire mahimong janitor, car salesman, etc. And look how many moveistars are here pag-abot ug Amerika they sell pots and pans and its still no big deal. Here it is still considered dignified and nothing to be ashamed of. Its not about status and power. its about respect for you as a person. Ang common complaint gud sa mga pinoys dire, they work so hard to send money to their loved-ones back home and they sometimes do not have any idea how much sacrifice they make para lang maka save na sila ug padala para sa ilang pamilya didto unya e pang shopping lang kuno, etc. wala pa one month mangayo na sab on top they keep calling long distance to the point nga halos dili na sila motubag sa phone kay daku na kaayo ilang long distance bills. Wala lagi kuno money sense and they have no idea nga ilang mga relatives or family members dire sa States maga baon na lang sa trabaho para tawon maka save sila ug kwarta para naay mapadala sa ilang mga families or relatives back home there in Pinas. So you see, common complaint sab na sa mga pinoys dire sa States with families to support back home.

My husband and I has 3 school age kids. We shop for groceries once or twice a month to save gas and also the time. We are members of a Wholesale Club and once a year we renew our membership and pay a few dollars for it, but we save money in the long run by getting the items in bulk instead of getting it in retail price like the one in regular grocery stores. I think this doesn't work for everybody for those of you who are single and has no kids. It really depends on us and our lifestyles and what works the best to save a dime.

@streetcar....i heared the same complaints here sa mga pinoy......sala man sad na nila kay cge lang sila padala mao pod patuyang lang ug gasto didto kay nagsalig man samot kaayo katapulan......wa pay thank you....
i'm very blunt of telling my family that i only give when i can kay di ko dato deri...i work just like everyone else and need to pay my bills...i don't care moingon sila kuripot.....pero kasabot man sila, maningkamot man sad sila ilaha....di man pareha anang uban nga naa gani abroad maglingkod nalang paabot sa pada unya mo demand pa gyud ug unsa papalit kay ang silingan nga abroad sad naay bago gipalit.....faet kaayo....samot pa gyud kafaet kay ang uban natong kababayan ug manguli murag kinsang datoa, mahimoot lang ko, mao na ang uban magtoo nga ug naa abroad dato gyud....if they only know.....oh well ilaha sad noon na

@junenine.....we used to do the same thing, got to sams club and buy in bulk pero karon wa na kay naa man grocery store malakaw lang sa mong balay.....

hi junenine, yes i like going to Price Costco and we used to frequent there before but its just me and my two grown daughters i always end up spending more on food that does not get all eaten in the long run instead we throw them out cause the kids only like eating it maybe two times the most after that it goes stale. So what works for us now is going to Pak N Sav where you buy groceries at a discount and you pack them yourself. Actually my kids have fun packing or i just go to Albertsons or Safeway instead of Price Costco it cuts my grocery expenses in half. However if you have items that you know you are going to be needing all the time, its great to shop there like detergents, toilet paper, their meats are good, fruits, breads and pastries --- those kinds of things.

evs, lagi ... i think its because they are so lacking in money nga mao na tendency gyud is to spend kay wala sila concept kung unsa tawon kalisud na nga kwarta gihaguan ug padala nila some pinoys here work 3 jobs no sleep just to support their families back home. Ang mga tao sa America datu kaayo sa utang, lol

I think that these Pinoys should have the burden to educate their families. Sometimes, kita Pinoy, we just give in and send money para walay samok. we're so anti-conflict. But sometimes it takes conflict for people to change for the better baya.
I always say to myself, ''It's okay to inconvenience others if its for their own good."

exception lang , if i were in abroad let say US, EUROPE, CANADA, and other immigrant friendly countries manghatag gyud koh coz lahi gyud ang income frome there compared dire pinas. If i were there different pud ako objectives as if naa gyud purpose akong pag-adto and not just myself. Life is too short pud baya.

In the philippines lang gyud is gamay ra gyud kaayo ang income and very hard gyud itabang ug lain.

these people are not saying they are not giving....they ARE giving nga eh...pero abusado ang mga nasa pilipinas. hala eh di na kayod kasi meron naman dollars galing abroad. one other thing....you do not know what they are talking about when they say na malaki ang gastos if you are living in the US. according to you....IF YOU WERE ABROAD....eh yun na nga...wala ka dun.... si streetcar, si junenine and si evs ..they ARE THERE...they are giving people a clear picture of how it is to live there.

ako tawn own relatives...they hold two jobs...wala halos tulog para lang maikayod ang family dun. mahirap ang buhay sa US oi.... try watching OPRAH....i remember meron dun isang show na she is working but STILL on welfare...and still no roof over her head to call her own...living in a car...living in this parang halfway house. pait oi. even mga nurses who go to the US...di rin ganun kaganda ang life according to my son's pedia who changed her mind to migrate to the USA when she visited ex-nurses she knew sa pinas when she went there for a training.

people see the $$$...say meron job offer nga usd$3,000 ang sweldo...wow! 150T more or less a month! hala ibebenta ang kalabaw para makalipad! ay tanga nila! gross kaya yan noh! kuhaan pa na tax....syempre mga health insurance...simbako baka magkasakit....at whatever is there nga kakaltasin ng govt ng estados unidos. ANG 3t MO...1,800 NA LANG!!!! (more or less kung u are living in new york daw)

the POINT is....not to give them fish but to TEACH them HOW to fish.... we are taught wrong here in the philippines.... ang parents...they always brainwash their kids... pag-graduate mo...ikaw na naman ang work...kami hayahay ha...so even if their kid is pamilyado na...hala pressured pa rin sila to give...kaya they also brainwash their kids...so on and so forth...SUCH A VICIOUS CYCLE.

the bible says a PRUDENT man provides for his CHILDREN..and his childrens' children...in other words...his APOs! dapat tayo save na para di pabigat sa ating mga kids. this is something i saw na i liked in my family.

although the bible teaches us to take care of the olds....ang olds ana kana talagang di na maka-work gyud. senior citizens man parents ko...pero income man gihapon sila kay they have business here and there. basta may lakas pa sa bones...wag tayo padadala ng katamaran. mas madali bya mamatay ang naanad na ug work tapos biglang stop hehehehehehe.

ay nobela na po....sermon pa jud...hahayyyy
