i would like to apologize for this delayed update regarding the state of my neighbor's dog. naguba man gud tawon akong pc...ako lang tawon naningkamot ug ayoayo. so here is the update:

the last episode was my decision to enter the property, armed with a bolt cutter. the dog was chained way too tight, it's movement was effectively strangling her. mao to ako giputol ang kadena, ug ang padlock shackle ako lang pud giapil para dili na magamit. i gave it some food and fresh water sa iya sudlanan nga plastic.

the dog was free, i thought it will run away. pero next morning, i saw it keeping watch on the property. the lot is about 300 square meters, a couple of nangka trees, some malunggay, and traces of what remained from a dismantled nipa hut. wala nipahawa ang iro...so loyal to the place. tingali nag expect pa sya nga mubalik pa ang iyang mga amo nga dugay ra nga nilayas ug nibiya niya. show of loyalty gyud tawon sya.

later in the afternoon, i saw a couple of male askals eyeing our faithful star doggie. before nightfall, i saw one of them mating with her. wish i had a camera with me but i was on my way to hear mass that evening.

the following day, the step son of the owners who left the dog came. the dog was still loyally and faithfully staying in the property...besides, she found some "boyfriend" already. ako man sab itsahan ug left over bones.

the step son tried to mend the chain which i cut previously, joined them with some wires from his tricycle (he is a tricycle driver). and again, tied the dog. i assume he is aware of the local ordinance here in dumaguete about having pet dogs on a leash or something like that.

he then relocated the dog near one of the nangka trees. it is a big tree and provides ample shade. i take that as a sensible act on his part. it took him a long while just to mend the chain. he must have cared enough to chose to do so instead of plying passengers and earning his living that afternoon.

maayo na lang wala nag wild ug nanghasi kung kinsay nagputol sa kadena...hehehe.

the following days, i noticed the dog was not whining anymore. i went up the fence and saw there was water and morsels of food by the plastic pan besides the dog. i realized that our pedicab (that is how tricycles are called in dumaguete) driver is coming over to bring food.

as a musician, i have an ear for sounds. i recognize the sound of his pedicab. he comes twice a day, one sa buntag ug balik na pud sa hapon and bring food for the dog. a very welcome development and i am happy for the dog.

from that day on till this evening, wala na ko kadungog nga nag whine ang dog kay gigutom or nabitay sa kahugot sa iyang kadena.

but remembering that mating session a few days ago...this story might continue on to puppies in a few weeks....

so that is it for now. my neighbor dog wags her tail when she sees me walking by. those fine looking eyes of a mother to be watching me with thanks and friendship....abangan ang kasunod na kabanata.....this is me signing off for now,,stay tuned....good day philippines.....hahaha

Abi nako lalaki sya babae man diay hehehe...pero atleast karon medyo padulong na sa pagka nindot ang istorya niya...og atleast naa nay nag care niya....BTW yup your right pang Maalaala jud diay ang story nila mag pamilya mao nadamay intawon ang iro.....looking forward for the next chapter...! hehehe
