perhaps there's an explanation to it. when a person is too serious, he might need someone who knows how to balance fun and say - work. so being with someone totally opposite him enables him to experience what he can't experience all by himself. it's probably a way of experiencing life in such a way that a person normally can't (or might have a hard time to it) given his nature.

in physics, there is a rule that says 'opposite attracts' but in electronics, if a diode is connected same terminal as the source voltage (negative to negative and positive to positive), then the connection is Forward Bias (meaning current flows)...oppositely connected will result to a Reverse Bias connection (current=0 ; open circuit)...
Therefore, may it be opposite or nearly the same, if love binds two individuals, it will work out...
