In capitalism, everything and anything can be reduced to product that merits profits, including dogs. Capitalists set standard according to their own interest and thus, dictate prices. They often sacrifice quality, if the market demands it, just to protect their interest for profit.

breeders are trying to modify the beauty of the dog and to the extent that they are risking the dog's life...hahayz... di lng tana tah mag binugo bah...the first priority of a dog breeder is its HEALTH!!!... kalouy atong GSD nawa jud tawon tong iyang essential sa pagka GSD which is ang pagka working dog...hahayz....Y_Y

a whole new outlook for breeders.

don't focus on breeding to achieve a certain look with no regard to the dog's health, focus on breeding for health and function and let form be the last.

this is why people who wants pedigree dogs should only buy from reputable dog breeders and those intending to breed should only breed those dogs coming from proven and tested lines with 0% defects in their lineage as much as possible. likewise those intending to breed dogs should spend some time acquiring knowledge in dog breeding by reading books on the topic, etc. Most importantly is that people must not buy dogs on impulse as owning dog/s is a big responsibility.
