I think the title of the news article is misleading. Did the song actually cause the death of the victim? There could be several factors that lead to the incident. Maybe the perpetrators were drunk or were on drugs? Maybe the victim and the suspects had a previous altercation? Maybe they held a grudge against him?

Perhaps the media is focusing on the song angle because it sounds more odd and sensational?
