pacman vs larios update
- Filipino superstar MANNY "PACMAN" PACQUIAO, and Mexican buzz saw OSCAR "CHOLOLO" LARIOS will hold a news conference luncheon Tomorrow! Friday, May 19, in the Avalon Room on the third floor of The Westin Bonaventure Hotel (404 South Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90071) beginning at 11:30 A.M. PT, to announce their 12-round super featherweight championship fight. Pacman and Larios will go mano-a-mano in the historic Araneta Coliseum, which hosted Ali-Frazier III -- "The Thrilla in Manila"-- nearly 31 years ago.
Pacquiao, 41-3-2 (32 KOs), a world champion in three different weight divisions, will be defending his WBC International super featherweight title and mandatory challenger position against former world champion and current No. 1 contender Larios, 56-4-1 (36 KOs), Saturday, July 1 (Sunday, July 2 in The Philippines) in the main event of a card which will be televised live on Pay-Per-View in the United States through In-Demand, beginning at 9 P.M. ET / 6 P.M. PT from The Philippines.
Barrera vs Juarez should have been a draw, it cant be denied that Barrera got the nod of the judges simply because he is a much more established fighter compared to Juarez whom sportswriter somewhat considered as "exposed" due to his previous defete at the hands of Humberto Soto.
if it had been Pacman in the ring, the outcome would have been different since Pacman ang Barrera are in the same footing in terms of ratings and media exposure.

pacman is the greatest fighter that ever came from asia. he's the first asian fighter that became a main event in a pay per view in the u.s. and what is more fascinanting is that there are no major belts at stake during the pay per view extravaganza. boxing experts consider pacman, morales, and barrera greater those belts. not even the late flash elorde has done this. imagine beating 2 mexican legends and future hall of famers in a very convincing manner. for most boxing experts, he is consistent third in the pound for pound list. if he wins against oscar larios, he might be placed in second. if mayweather, who is considered the best fighter in the world today, losses in his next fight, pacman will definitely be the no. 1 pound for pound fighter in the world. if pacman becomes the no.1 fighter in the world, i think it will be the greatest achievement done by a filipino.Â*

Amen to that Franklin......
certainly greater than Khaosai Galaxy of thailand
Hey guys...
A lot of boxing aficcionados view the latest bout of Marco Antonio Barrera as a sign that the "Baby face assassin" is fading and Erik "El Terrible" Morales is not as terrible as before, could be a spent force. I guess it would be very exciting specially for the pacfans if Pacman would matchup with other rising challengers...
Who do you think would be an exciting and worthy matchup for Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao....?

personally i would love to see Pacman settle an old score (a Draw) with Juan Manuel Marquez and lets see if the "Dinamita" deserved the Draw verdict.

^^^ same here.. I'd love to see Pacman punish Juan Manuel Marquez and beat him into a pulp. I believe Pacman with the "draw" against Marquez would be more than capable of handling him this time around. but the wise decision here though is, "where's the biggest purse?" go for the money!! that's a no-brainer really, if I were Pacman.
Shut Up! Let your GAME do the talking!
i want PACMAN to fight JORGE BARRIOS . . it'll be a hell of a fight . . puncher vs puncher . . let see who'll kiss the canvas first . .Â* i think Jorge Barrios and Acelino Freitas has the power to beat Manny . . pero lightweight mana c Freitas . . ug sa 130 lbs away0n payts ra . .
Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs Jorge Rodrigo Barrios would surely give fightfans one hell of a bout. a win for either fighter would solidify his status in the superfeather weight division.
yeah, Acelino Freitas was in his 5th fight as a lightweight againts Zahir Raheem. He would be a good litmus test for Pacman if he consider going up in weight as some rumors tell. Acelino is a good matchup since their stats are almost similar and would not post any problems for Pacman if he could carry the additional weight for the 135lbs division.
the recent fights have just shown to us how much the focus in the superfeather weight have shifted from mainstays (Barrera/Morales) to other unexplored challengers and second rising fighters who have what it takes to be a factor in the superfeather weight division...
small man can Bang.....
