[QUOTE=godsaint;3251746]MV Princess of the Stars captain is dead - RDCC
    BY MARK MERUEÑAS, GMANews.TV
    09/09/2008 | 05:16 PM

MANILA, Philippines - The Regional Disaster Coordinating Council (RDCC) in Central Visayas confirmed on Tuesday that the missing captain of the ill-fated MV Princess of the Stars was among those who died in the tragic sea mishap.

GMA’s Flash Report quoted RDCC officials as saying that the DNA samples submitted by Capt. Florencio Marimon’s family to forensic experts matched one of the recovered cadavers.

The television reports said that Marimon’s relatives already dropped by at the funeral homes in Cebu province where the captain’s body was being kept.

The relatives, however, were not immediately allowed to claim their loved one’s remains, the report added.

Dr Renato Bautista, chief of the National Bureau of Investigation’s Medico-Legal Division, said the family still has to present Marimon’s birth and marriage certificates before they can take home the skipper’s body.

Bautista and a team of 13 other forensic experts are leading the government efforts in identifying all the bodies fished out from the waters off Sibuyan Island.

Aside from the NBI, officials from the International Police and the International Commission on Missing Persons are extending their expertise to hasten the identification of the victims.

Marimon has earlier been deemed by the six-man panel from the Bureau of Marine Inquiry as “negligent" because he decided to pursue sailing amid rough seas triggered by Typhoon “Frank."

The BMI panel said that the ship captain failed to monitor the movement of the passenger ferry relative to the approaching typhoon. Marimon also released a delayed order for the passengers to abandon the ship, according to the panel.

The Sulpicio Lines Inc (SLI), owner of the capsized vessel, was also found to have failed in implementing effectively the Quality and Safety Management System and violated its certificate of public compliance certificate franchise.

The 300-ton vessel left Manila Friday night at the height of typhoon "Frank." It slammed into the wrath of "Frank" in the vicinity of Romblon province while on its way to Cebu in the morning of June 21.

At the time of the incident, Princess was carrying more than 800 passengers and crew. The SLI said 32 survived the tragedy while 312 bodies were recovered so far.

Retrieval operations were halted following the discovery of the endosulfan cargo. - GMANews.TV

mao bitaw ni ang nabutang sa news .Unya naa pa man gihapon mo question sa credibility sa test.katong ni question, pagawas mo sa inyong imbestigasyon ug proof.

@ MELVENB .... mao gani kapitan . First one to know when shit hits the fan and sees who will get hit . Anyways kung kami namatyan .... tinuod gani sakit but we can accept the fact that it is like that and walay mahimo , that is part of the issues we have to deal considering that our family member's work requires SEAWORTHINESS and that lives of the passengers relies on his or her capabilities . Other than that , human hilak bakasyon dayon .

@ GODSAINT .... curious pod ko if didto ba gyud ka sa DNA testing and confirming that it indeed was the captain . Hahaha .... or maybe " nagpakita " siya nimo ? The credibility relies on the ACTUAL RESEARCH done by identified scientist and witnessed by a panel to convinced people , heck even the family only gave samples and not from news report written by a certain MARK MURUENAS from GMA . That report is intended to update us , not to be consumed as a tool to establish the fact .

@ ESTORBOOT .... actually , I'd rather believe more sa anak sa amo-ang kaila who was MIA for almost a month and a half and his testimonies because siya ang naa sa tapad sa kapitan as misinterpreted by GODSAINT na ako daw ang tapad LMFAO ! DNA ? Hahahaha ... do you know who are the GO's ? Who they are connected to ? What they are capable back of doing? Please say NO because if you say YES , back to zero ta ani and we'll get stuck sa issue about DNA . Murag kabalo sad mo unsa DNA testing dah ... btw the internet is free for research but please next time manubag mo , kana mo duot .

Thats why I said that reply wasnt for you in the first place because I will end up shoving it down to your throat . I cant show proof because obviously it cant be done , though naa gani mo leak na issues na buhi gyud diay ang kapitan lolz ... then that would be it ! I said that to share not only what I think but what I knew also . Kamo , what you guys shared are mere reports . It is also considered hearsay , the only difference on both of our hearsay's are mine came from a firsthand information and yours .... I dont know on what degree na .

LOLZ ... kalma lang . Bisan kissan pa tika kaya kaau english pa kaha ? Mao gani ni waiver dayon ko na dili na para imoha ang reply nako much more to others . It was more of a sharing on what I knew from a firsthand information . Kana imohang NEWS REPORTS , that doesnt constitute a justification na gikan sa camp ni MARIMON nga naay DNA testing confirming he indeed is one of the casualties . BTW ... dili lage to silngan namo , btw kadto kaila namo is just one of the SHIP's CREW who just surfaced out to confirm that he is alive and with MARIMON through a phonecall to his parents after a month and a half hiding and cooling off the issues somewhere confidential , kana maka ingon gyud ko grabe to ang hilak sa pamilya niya because I witnessed it and after knowing he is alive , wala na mo hilak . Natural buhi gud !! Yes it will indeed remain a hearsay , but its not my problem of convincing mys elf if patay or buhi ba siya and like I really cared . Kamo ga duha duha pa mo for sure because all your HEARSAYS also came from NEWS REPORTS and it seems ni care gyud mo lolz and fighting to the next level na PATAY na lage gyud siya .

What if imong iapil ang tanan nga DNA samples.Pila gani to kabouk na ang nailhan?
