Naa may mga sikat (to an extent) nga pinoy diri sa U.S. music scene..BRAIN drummer sa Primus ug unsa pa na iyang mga side projects... si Joey Santiago sa Pixies..... katung Pioneer sa Thrash Metal .. DEATH ANGEL...

I give Regine all the credit sa iyang achievements sa Asia... she's an oustanding entertainer.

Unsa may timing imong gipasabot? .... sa sobra sa 10 years na wala siya naka timing, nag tuo pa ka nga naa pay paglaom nga maka timing?
Not because she has made it over a decade she no longer has the chance. cliche as it may sound, if your still at it, you still can.

you sounded like a parent who is against your daughter's or son's dream to be a star. because it's a false hope. while you believe her talent why don't you pin your dreams on the idea that she can? that is if you believe she has a talent. but if you're not, it's natural you go against her.

It's a given man sad na if you're dreaming to be star, or to make it internationally you don't have to be a realist. if you are, obviously you will be daunted later on what with the others negative notions of this and that.

that's my opinion. yours maybe different. i respect that.

more than a decade of coming back and forth to the U.S. entertaining Filipinos is totally different from the above ^^ statement. given this premise, if she could make it, she would have made it by then. maybe she needs a new manager or agent don't you think?

Madonna, Mariah and Celine personifies the above cliche. but Regine in the U.S. market? those women have been there and done that in the U.S. music scene literally for years and for Regine at her age (36 about the same age as Mariah) to make it there would really be a daunting task. let's not kid ourselves here. we might even be posting on this thread after 5 yrs when Regine turns 41 or another 5 yrs after that and she'd be like really old.. and we'd still be hoping by then I guess.

if it were 10-15 yrs ago, I'd strongly believe there would be a chance she'd make it. but not when you're almost past your prime. sad to say, that's where she is at this moment of her career. which manager would gamble on a performer who does a rendition of a song by an artist half her age?

^^doesn't it clearly show that time has passed her by as far as making it in the U.S.?

tell me which performer local or international made it big in the U.S. when he/she was about 40 yrs old?

OMAD - you beat me to it...

VERTICAL.... Let's keep it real, it's false hope.... you can hope and wish all you can but it's never gonna happen. As the topic says.. "can she make it in the U.S." .. the real answer is NO!! .. put all your hopes and wishes aside and answer the topic.

As far as my attitude of sounding like an unsupportive parent... I'm just being a realist. If she was my daughter, of course I'd support her all the way. But I'm merely answering the topic... I'm stating the factors why she's not gonna make it.

@EZRA, sorry for disrupting your train of thought but I still have a couple more questions for either @Vertical or @Onlinester or whoever still believe that Regine can still make it in the U.S. with her career:

what would she do differently than what she did the past 10 or more years performing in the U.S.?

if 40 is the magic number then she's only got another 4 yrs.. any suggestions?

in my own opinion, if a performer's main strength is to do renditions or covers, he/she should start at least around his/her early 20's in the U.S. to have a chance of maybe scratching the surface of the said industry. there would have been a realistic chance albeit small if she got exposed to the U.S. audience by that time. sad to say, she's way past that possibility and chances are getting dimmer. I'm not closing the door on her entirely but as I've said the clock is ticking fast. tick tock tick tock..

See, you still hope that she can. While she's not forty yet, we might as well hope that she can.

being a Filipino, I also wanted somebody to represent the whole country in the limelight (positive). but Regine, not a sure bet.

@Onlineste, let me get back to my question:

what would she do differently than what she did the past 10 or more years performing in the U.S.?

if 40 is the magic number then she's only got another 4 yrs.. any suggestions?

any inputs? suggestions or bright ideas that her manager/agent wasn't able to think of?

There was a chance right when she came out.... when Debbie Gibson and Tiffany was BIG.. she coulda jumped that bandwagon.... if she had any chance of making it big, that was it.
