brand new sad ko kay ako makauna. pero tiguman lang. hehe
nindot ang bag.o. nindot e bagnus! ehhehe
allow me to feedback on this one. this was an issue on chevy optra's early on but there was already a solution to this one. the ECU needed to be loaded/upgraded w/ another program and it's better than 1:8 after that. much better. in manila, not all chevy dealers were aware of the solution then but i believed that's all been corrected now. i've read and followed about it in one car forum.
on topic, i still would prefer 2nd hand - the newer and efficient ones. it is still best bang for the buck. the brand new ones is already what less 20%(?) of its sticker price when it rolls out of the dealer? but if ur not techy enough to check on ur car & get ur hand dirty then go for brand new if u have the moolah and save u some grief for a good while (that f ur buying a good brand new car).
I agree with you. If you want to "bang for the buck", then getting a slightly used one is still the best deal on the planet. Just as long as you bring a very experienced mechanic to check on the car before making a final decision on whether to buy the car or not. We bought our 2007 Civic at 300,000 LESS than brand new price with only 7,000 KM on the odo and it still smells like new and in pristine condition. Is 7,000 KM worth 300,000 pesos? Hell, no.
There are factors also why it was 300K cheaper than new less the 7K KM , true di gyud siya worth , but a new question would also arise like why did the owner sell it that CHEAP ? Honestly , kung ikaw ang tag-iya is ibaligya kaha na nimo for 300K cheaper tha new fwith only 7K KM ?
Now by saying its in PRISTINE CONDITION, good for you !! Swerte na kaayo na bai ... BTW ... dont suggest an EXPERIENCED MECHANIC bro ... bring a GOOD and a TRUSTED MECHANIC . They can easily be paid up to 15K just to let you know that all is fine bisan dili aron mahalin dayon .
Its a no contest that if one can afford or has the money for a new one , BRAND NEW gyud kuhaon ana . WHo would say NO to a BRAND SPANKING NEW CAR ? Hehehe .... nobody . Unless its reasons like what I said na " I want a car but its been DISCONTINUED already " .

Owner is leaving for Qatar =) car was also unused for 3 months (gi tangtang ang battery unya naka jack ang awto arun dili ma guba ang tires)
But hey, it all depends on your LUCK as well. and yeah, you are right, good and trusted mechanic WITH lots of experience would be your best bet.
And syempre if one can afford a brand new car, then I would do that as well. But if you are also the type who wants to keep on modifying your car (sounds, lights, wheels, lower etc), then I suggest getting a used one kay ma sayang imung warranty sa new car.
Depends on the purpose ra gyud noh ? Mao na mga nindot na deals , SACRIFICE SALE kay manglargahay ang tag-iya .
