franz ferdinand isn't new wave.. although they have their roots sa 80's.. Bands like "gang of four", "the clash", and even hints of the "*** pistols"..

The term "new wave" man gud is an all encompassing term just like the term "alternative".. daghan kaayo bands na punk or otherwise nga na-group sa new wave kay tungod na release man sa 80's..

Killers, ColdPlay and Keane are new wave influenced. Technically, because they entered the scene relatively just now they cannot be called new wave but for me they are still somewhat are.

Joy Division is pre-new wave. They are one of the transition bands. Nindot ang love will tear us apart.

I have 3 hard drives of pure new wave, not the jukebox 80's music, so to speak.

punk is really a pre new wave genre( though you cant call new wave a genre)... bai nindot sad ang she's lost control,transmission sa joy division.
