hehe.yah i agree to kashnica its not a big deal bro..i think the echophobia band members that u've said might jst laugh if dey know dey hv lyk bandnames n d philippines..cmon lets be honest it is possible that bandnames,titles or other names cn b d same.by d way wats d genre of d echophobia band dt u said bro?hehehe Rock / Alternative / Grunge = that's what it says on their myspace account.

Yeah, they might just laugh when they see a video upload of a band, performing someplace unfamiliar, with the same name as their's on YouTube. It's also ok if your band is just doing jam sessions and some gigs in bars on weekends until it disbands and members go on with their lives. BUT if you have intentions to record your original compositions, then it's too much of a hassle to change band names when the recording company finds out that there are more than one band who share the same name: EchoPhobia.

Nobody cares really. You can do whatever you want, name your band whatever you like. It's a free country. But at least it's also nice to know that you're the only one having the name Echophobia, but sadly in this case, you're not alone.

Knowing now that it doesn't concern you a bit, then go and make good music Echophobia (Cebu-based). :mrgreen:

Specially when both EchoPhobia bands (Bay Area, SF and Cebu) releases an album. Let's wait until both bands upload some videos on YouTube and see what happens. But for now, both bands don't have any single released yet or an album released for that matter that's why it's no big deal FOR NOW. It won't even matter if one of them gets BIG and the other one fizzles-out into extinction. What matters is when BOTH gets recording labels and becomes famous in the future. That for sure is a headache. But having two bands with the same name getting famous, uhhhmm I doubt it. But it's still probable though albeit small. That's the time when one of them gives way to the other and let them use the name EchoPhobia.

That's why I'm calling their band here EchoPhobia Cebu-based 'coz we already know that there's another one that exist across the globe with the same name.
