A parliamentary-style government vests executive and legislative power in one body. Less check and balance. With the current crop of politicians we have, this will be a recipe for disaster.

The main reason politicians are all for the parliamentary system is that they, not the people, choose among themselves who to vote for as chief executive. This allows unpopular but rich politicians (e.g. De Venecia) to achieve their dream of becoming the Philippines' leader. With no strong party system based on ideology, we'll have politicians switching sides and selling allegiances at every opportunity.

I did say "most" too. And it's discriminatory for you to claim that most are just getting drunk or sniffing drugs etc... You sure have a very low opinion of the poor. Most poor Filipinos are farmers. In fact in the last major rally against GMA, many of the rallyists were farmers who marched all the way from Laguna, I saw them with my own eyes as they passed my area here in Alabang.

For those kind of people I mentioned, yes I have a very low opinion on them... for those who are working hard I tell to keep it up and respect them in the highest regard.

But I wasn't talking about seasonal rallyists. I was talking about people who just accept a lying and cheating president as long as the economy, for them, is good.

Be realistic, do you seriously think that holding the whole country hostage will make us prosper? And yes, the economy is sooo good on our part. Just last month the companies I work for hired at least 50 more production workers. It may not be that much against the millions who are jobless but if every other company hires a few people, it will surely sum up to a significant number and put more food on more people's table.

What if the "established systems" has been corrupted by the very entity you are complaining against? Think congress (impeachment) and Comelec (hmm... Garci, 'nuff said).

Are you surprised about that? Since when did politics become "corrupt free"? If you want it your way, do some good deeds and put yourself to power... now, just because politics is a dirty game doesn't mean that you have to jump in too... you can contribute something good yourself... why keep blaming those who are corrupt?

Yes they did, but the government did everything to hamper the commission. EO 464 ring any bells? How about the court-martial on Gen. Gudani, et al?

Like I said, you can never win against a good team. Take the loss, build up your rep, run in the next elections, open the case, and then have your say. It's easy as that...

Again, why call it"brainwashing"? Expressing my opinion is "brainwashing" diay? And just because you're not in power, means you shouldn't talk about it or try to do something about it? Expressing yourself, through rallies and media, is a constitutional right. You mean we should sacrifice our sense of morals just to put food on our tables? Sorry but I'm not that pragmatic. I still have ideals, one of them is that my President should be eligible for a "Certificate of Good Moral Character". And frankly, to me GMA is not.

I wasn't specifically referring to you. Whoever is behind all these is the one brainwashing the masa for their own personal gain... which so far they have constantly failed to achieve. I won't sacrifice my sense of morals... I'll do what I can to contribute to what is better for everyone. Pulling the whole country down for the benefit of another and potentially more corrupt person is not one of those.

If there's anyone holding the country hostage, it's GMA's cabal who stole the elections and are branding anyone opposed to her cheating ways as "destabilizers". Good for your company that they've hired more workers, but I also know of several factories here retrenching. Again, does being "realistic" mean turning a blind eye to cheating and stealing? So just because your company is doing well, let's just let GMA keep her stolen election?

So, if I can't run and win as President, I shouldn't complain? Since when should you not complain about corrupt officials? Especially since I believe GMA wasn't even elected. Why shouldn't you blame those who are corrupt? The problem is people just accept "corruption" as part of government, which is why it'll never go away.

Good in the sense that they are good at cheating and bending the rules to their favor. So if you joined, say a basketball game, and the opponents foul you with abandon and the refs were paid to make all the calls go against you, you should just "take the loss"? If GMA won fair and square I'd have no problem with her. But she was caught discussing cheating with Garci on tape, and she has done everything possible to kill the impeachment and the investigation without letting the truth come out. She has bastardized the COMELEC which is supposed to ensure free and honest elections. The solution isn't to "take the loss", it's to revamp the COMELEC and then call new elections, without the incumbent running as intended by our Constitution. Let GMA and her COMELEC resign, we revamp COMELEC then call new elections. GMA can run again if she wishes. If GMA wins then, I'll support her.

If there's anyone pulling the country down, it's GMA with her act of bastardizing the elections when she appointed, and then called Garci. The trouble all started right there. In fact, supporting GMA means you support the continued corruption of our government. It's the GMA government doing all the brainwashing ... i.e. if Noli becomes president we'll all go down (in spite of the fact that GMA chose him as VP), calling all anti-GMA forces "destabilizers", saying that only GMA can make our economy run well (which is farthest from the truth).

The whole excuse of supporting GMA "for the economy" boils down to following your stomach instead of your ideals.
