[color=navy]^^I do not think the entire 500K amount for damages is required immediately. It can be paid in a form of installments or any other settlement. Of course, there can be an appeal but if the groom refuses to obey the ruling of the court, he could be considered for contempt and thus sent to jail. Not really sure though.

it doesn't work that way. if the groom loses the case and the judgment becomes final, the decision will be executed. that means the sheriff will levy on whatever property the groom has that would be enough to pay the amount of the judgment. there's no contempt of court for failing to pay the amount. otherwise, that would be violating the constitutional prohibition against imprisonment for non-payment of a debt.[br]Posted on: March 04, 2008, 09:44:21 PM_________________________________________________

di ba naay part sa marriage ceremony nga "if anybody here present doesn't want the marriage to take place, please speak up"? i dunno if this is the exact phrase but i usually see this in american movies...

maybe this is just a case of a man in a dilemma which of the 2 or 3 ladies he "really" wants to marry...as the song goes, "Si Lorna o si Aida o si Fe"...

it's just that maybe in our Filipino culture, nobody would expect that will happen. such a rare sight indeed!!!
