1 and 2.) counting a single person's wishes/ideals/frustrations/regrets is like counting the stars and all the other objects in the sky. asking them to pick one, is like asking to chose the most beautiful of them all after seeing individual images of every galaxy, every nebula there is.

get a car, write a book, a month's worth of vacation in Boracay and Palawan. write poems. get a house on a mountainside overlooking the sea, learn to play a musical instrument, more time to read, more money to buy books...

the list can go on and on. and who is to say what can be or cannot be done?

3.) to let other people feel what the other feels. it just might make this world a better place to live.

4.) they annihilate each other. too much like what's happening in too many places these days.

    Sir Gareb... here's mine:

    1. What phase in your life are you at this time?

    2. What would you do differently if you knew nobody would judge you?

    3. Have you ever connected with someone in core deep levels? who and why?

    4. When was the last time you marched into the dark with only the soft glow of an idea you strongly believed in?

    5. Has your greatest fear ever come true?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions sir

1.) depending on whose list of the "phases of life" you'd be using, i could be in any. still, i can't help but think that i am stuck on the learning phase since the day i became aware of things happening around me...

2.) since people's opinions will no longer affect my decisions, i fear that would be the time that i abandon my being a human. i can rage in diatribes against any and all, and not care about the consequences if it does not affect my own interests. lives can get ruined in the most base manner by things said and done. i will not be held back by brakes by a conscience molded by society's need for temperance.

the art of navigating through these contradictions is a mark of being human. animals even have a rudimentary sense of empathy. it is sometimes a wonder why some of us can't (or won't) have any.

3.) yes, but 'connection' would not necessarily mean 'total agreement' on insights and opinions. it's more of like you walking on your own path and someone happened to be passing through the same route. you notice each other because you were walking side by side for some stretch of the road. you enjoyed each other's company so much that both of you stopped when you happen to reach the crossroad. you argued a bit because each wanted to take the other to where he's going. both of you realized the futility of the argument and settled for a third path instead.

4.) all the time. search around, you might stumble upon some of the soft glow i carry around usually eclipsed by the light of a Sun.

5.) one's greatest fear is always replaced by one even greater when it happens. and one's fears are always hidden somewhere at the back of everything else in one's mind. it is also the hardest to talk about because it is the thing you don't want to even think about. once upon a time it did happen. and now there is a new one just bidding it's time.

1.) i have been thinking about making one, but no, i don't. i cannot allow for some latent dissociative identity disorder to have a playground to frolic in.

2.) i am aware of it. he was using YJOB's avatar before after he gave him a nice set of infractions. i guess it was my turn to receive the honor after i muted him for a few days.

    Got it sir,

but asking your perspective, isn't it about time to change the forum rules and regulations specially in avatar usage issues?

3.) it might be very convenient to have some very explicit rules on avatar use to augment the existing one. but i personally do not see any immediate reason to. the existing rules seems to be quite effective and would still serve its purpose.

if it needs be however, his violation would be filed under mod disrespect. but me, i'm quite amused by it.

1.) i am almost always a lurker, so it is understandable that i do not have any "close friends" here at istorya.

2.) every mod's meeting is memorable. there's almost always free food. i am shallow that way.

3.) lots of things. but in the context of online interactions, the stupidity of losing one's manners, and being irresponsible with the false idea of anonymity behind the keyboard.

4.) the usual measure of "success" these days is the number of zeros in one's bank account, or land holdings, or how many cars you have parked on your garage, or if that building carries your name on it. there are those who do not have these things but want to convince themselves that they are indeed successful and redefine the usual meaning of "success" in their own terms based on what they have. still, there are others who purposefully forgo on all things material and live simple, happy lives, contented with what they have.

i can say i am successful, but in the eyes of others i am living a delusion. i can say that i am a failure, but then some would raise their eyebrows knowing what i have and say they do not understand.
