another poem i wrote when i was in the middle east.
Alternate Futures
A moment of eternity is trapped inside a glass
But cannot be kept forever as it reaches critical mass
Gaze into the future as it returns to forever
Or witness the universe having a silent shiver
Choose wisely among infinite possibilities of the future
But know first where you've been to know where you're headed
Listen carefully to the past as it gives you a lecture
But never dwell on it so you will not be embedded
A clock could break but time would always go on
Everyday becomes a new challenge with a reason to live on
The future is a mystery not meant to be known
It is meant to be experienced as it unfolds on its own
And if in the future I could not find you anywhere
I won't be scared of tomorrow because God is already there
And if we can't be together now then maybe in the next lifetime
When our paths shall cross again perhaps after some time.
i wrote this poem on my way back home so many years before.
Coming Home
It's been long since I've seen the ocean
I want to smell it again. It's my passion
The road is long but I will get there soon
Guided by my memory and the silver moon
I miss home so much. I can't wait to be there
I've had enough. I want to fly away from here
Experience as my best teacher. I won't forget
And life is but life itself. No regrets.
I miss my family and all of my friends
And I miss my girl whose love I depend
I want to see her again and hold her close
I want to kiss her lips and give her a rose
May the Lord grant me the strength I need
Along with my prayers that He may heed
I will leave this place now. I'm coming home
Because there's definitely no place like home.
December Snow
December snow falls on my bed
As I pulled at the sheets to cover my head
The weeks go by as the months turned into years
And I still long for you as shown by these tears
Soon comes night and then darkness falls
I stare at the ceiling and towards me you crawl
I close my eyes I see you and I still can't sleep
For this sadness seeps through my veins so deep
Against the fall of night we make love under a merciless moon
I imagine you naked while you were dreaming on a blue lagoon
I want to memorize every detail of your beautiful body and then
I want to touch you. I want to smell and kiss your perfumed garden
I cried but my tears are lost forever in the falling rain
I miss the lightning and until you come I shall wait in vain
Our love for each other is all I ever want to know
As your soft whisper echoes in the December snow.
a poem about insomnia.
Sleep No More
When the air outside is barely moving
And my untamed thoughts are quietly screaming
I walk outside in the dead of the night
To challenge the wolves into a fight
The Sandman has gone and abandoned me
He left me awake to die as cruel as can be
And now I cannot sleep my thoughts so deep
I am so alone with no more sheep to keep
Maybe tonight sleep will come
But the god of sleep is always a scum
He gives you dreams you will soon regret
He gives you nightmares you can never forget
It is only in my dreams that I can truly sleep
The wolves kept howling and I began to weep
It really doesn't matter this pain in my head
Afterall, I'll have plenty of sleep when I'm dead.
The Flying Dutchman
He opened the drawer and took out the dice
He poured himself a drink of whiskey without the ice
He looked at the gun on the table infront of him
He smiled at Davy Jones who stared blankly at him
His beautiful ship was cursed right from the start
His crew were greedy all with frozen hearts
His lifelong quest was to master the seven seas
His nemesis, Poseidon, he can never please
The devil gave him an offer he could not refuse
To solve a simple riddle but it only made him confused
He asked the dice to give him an answer or two
But the poor captain just didn't know what to do
The devil won and his dirty glass is empty
He now drinks from the blood of all which is plenty
All of them must sail forever and never reach land
Behold the ghost ship, the Flying Dutchman!
a poem about the war in iraq. written during the start of the u.s. invasion.
The Siege Of Babylon
There is fire in the clouds
And the sky is bruised
The dogs of war have been unleashed
And weapons of mass destruction are used
Pain as my armor has been broken
And we, the living, shall envy the dead
Our poor sad souls they have taken
To be consumed by unforgiving winds ahead
I know not peace for it doesn't exist
And I couldn't care less for what I have missed
I saw the future murdered by a gun
And a new dark age of anarchy has begun
Fallen cities are ruined and abandoned
And at midnight, stolen lives haunt from afar
This is the siege of Babylon
Do you know where your children are?
a poem about porn magazine and FHM which i missed during my stay abroad.
Unclothed
I want to sleep but you would not let me
I just keep staring at your lustful beauty
Your eyes are enticing me to draw closer
And your wicked smile makes me surrender
You are the reincarnation of Aphrodite
The Greek goddess of love and beauty
Many mortal men have sought for your kiss
But it is I, who has taken you and your bliss
I alone, will see you pose unclothed
We will keep our happiness only to us both
And as I marvel at your naked perfection
I will be silent when all goes to oblivion
And then I realized I cannot afford you
I have some change just for a smoke or two
I am almost at the centerfold to see you fully
But the salesclerk took the magazine immediately.
a poem about drinking alcohol. so, drink moderately ha. hehehe.
The Goddess Of Wine
My goddess of wine, you are years late
Where have you been when I was all alone?
Please take me before my sorrows escalate
And consume me to the very deep core of my bone
My goddess of wine, you are so beautiful
Drown me with your nectar that is so bountiful
Your lips, like cold gin, is a sweet poison
When I take you, my words are filled with passion
My goddess of wine, please stay with me
Stay with me and let me fall asleep
Let's forget the existence of the universe for tonight
And dream of erotic fantasies taking flight
My goddess of wine, I woke up this morning
My head hurts so much with a splitting pain
I don't ever want to feel your lust later this evening
But don't go too far for I shall seek you again.
more corny poems when i was in high-school. ('c',)
Until The Sky Falls Down
I sat alone on the edge
Waiting for the sky to fall down
As I saw my world below I make a pledge
That I'll be there for you when things go down
Then I stand alone on a mountain
Holding the stars, the moon, and the sky
So I may see you for my love shall remain
Shall remain until time would end and die
My life would be nothing without you
For all I know is you're everything to me
And I want you to know that I love you
Until the sky falls down on me.
