Be a producer... you don't need to put up cash! (though if offered, it will be greatly appreciated). There are other ways you could help produce a local film...
Do you have a special skill like costume design? Cosmetics and hair styles? Do you have a creepy house? Own a beach resort? Have cute little puppies? have a dance troupe? A parking lot? A car? A Humvee? Some old appliances? A computer? Old family videos? Old halloween costumes? Unique art pieces? An unused warehouse? A cafe? Chairs? Food?! Children?!
There are a thousand and one ways you could be a part of the local filmmaking scene not as an actor or a crew member... but as a producer and see your name in the credits!

I own one thing that was onscreen in "The Witness"... some day I'll sell it to a museum for memorabilia. :-b
tanaw ko cinemalaya gabii sa CCP, sh1t grabre ka nindot!!
one feature film that I saw is "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Orevelios"
grabe! nindot kaayo pagka execute ang story.
It's a story about a gay 12 year old boy living in the slums, he falls in love with a police officer who saved him one day. however, Maximo's father doesn't really have that an honest bussiness, so the cops are into him, leaving maximo in the middle of the crisis. basta, somehting like that. very memorable gyud.
A very coming of age sotry!!
if anything, I believe that the Phil, Film industry will rise with the advent of the badass Independent filmakers.
sad lang coz filipinos always look for sa mga star quality rather than the content.
Some people may not know what I'm talking about...

Hahaha.. why oh why do innovative and unique 'kuno' Filipino films always have a sexual orientation dilemma as theme?!
Someday I would write a feature film entitled-- "NOT ANOTHER GAY MOVIE?!/ ISA NAMAN PELIKULANG BADING?!

waaah! makasuya! tell us more about what's happening in cinemalaya...Originally Posted by vanceloma
perhaps, but this film presented it in a different way, not the typical opressed bading which everyone loves to hate. it shows how much he is loved by the community, and the moist frail thing about is, he's only a child.Originally Posted by diemjudilla
