Why did God create evil?

OT: oh dear...what version are you reading may i ask...maybe you can explain it to me better...i don't know much about your bible...

here's another Q:

How can the same God that, according to the Old Testament, killed everybody on Earth except for four people be considered as anything other than evil?

i'm not into bible reading..but the scriptures i like reading are those of John and the book of Revelations...and there's no need for me to read it just to know the truth..coz i'm no atheist doubting the whole thing.

and w/ regards to yur question, well i really dont mind answering that..its just another atheist misconceptions of the real truth with regards to a certain passages..

it's okay tolstoi, no biggie...i already know the christian apologists' answers to my Q's...i gave you the link earlier, didn't i? i just wanted to know your own thoughts on the issue...and you never really answered my Q's anyway...

and oh, btw, it's not just because i'm a skeptic and "doubting the whole thing" as you put it...don't you think you should know the history of your religion before believing into something other than just from blind faith? those are logical and meaningful questions if you read 'em again...

and one more thing...it's not a misconception of any passages...remember the story of Noah's Ark? that's what I was talkin' about...

Noahs ARK was about GOD asking the people thru NOAH to come back to HIM or suffer the CONSEQUENCES . God did created EVIL but no to for us bu for us to undestand that by EVILNESS , we will all perish and suffer and by GOODNESS , we all live in harmony and love , everlasting life .

God allow evil to exist in order for His created beings to be able to recognize his unending Goodness

and another thing is! to punish Evil itself! cuz you can never punish evil with Good but evil as well

God did not create evil. It is like this:
Evil, in its essence (if it has) is the absence of good.
It is like darkness which is the absence of light;
Like cold which is the absence of heat.
It is, to say in absolute comparison, nothing which is the absence of something.
Now, God is all good. It is only when one is with God is he something, as he said:
"Cut off from me, you are nothing."
Now, when we say "we see/hear/feel evil", we are actually sensing the absence of something good.
God, in all his goodness could not CREATE nothing.
