Trash-talking is normal in sports and especially one-on-one physical confrontations, but usually the verbal jabbing and insults go both ways. It's not that Eric talked more trash than most boxers would (especially for such a big fight), it's the way Manny handled it that made it seem that way. Manny, showing class and dignity, did not retaliate back to Eric, thereby making it seem that Eric's mouth loomed larger than normal.

When Manny knocked out Eric, he left his Mexican opponent with nothing to talk about but the truth.

As far as I can tell, most promoters seem to be crooks, but somehow I trust Oscar De La Hoya more than I do Bob Arum.... Arum has been around for so long that he knows how to screw a boxer from all angles. Both he and Don King are in the same book as far as I'm concerned. Actually, not only "in" that same book, but pictured on the cover!

WOUld you guys rather want Pacman under GBP or Toprank as promoters ? Would you guys rather want Pacman face Barrera first or Valero and why ??

imo, golden boy will be a better choice coz if pacman will fight valero, he may have a less than 3 million purse but if he fights barrera, he may have 5 million. if he wont fight barrera now, barrera might fight marquez and if marquez beats barrera, it could spoil his possible 5 millon + ppv purse . valero is still untested. maybe its not yet time to challenge the pacman coz it might end his career early. he should fight barrios, peden or rocky juarez first before challenging the best. and from what ive seen in his fights, he's really not that good. he may have good stamina and power but pacman also has both plus speed and expierence. it will be a big mismatch

I don't think that the The Grande Finale required any hype... the last 2 fights and the large following of both fighters was enough in this matchup.

Does anyone know what the final pay per view numbers were for this fight?

And Ocean's 12 was much anticipated cuz of the popularity of Ocean's 11, but unfortunately.... it didn't live up to the hype though. Maybe for Morales fans, neither did The Grande Finale.... heheh.
