    Sa ma remember nako sa iyang advise bro ha (if my memory serves me right, lisud raba ni kasaligan esp. wa kay ko ni pay ug attention hehe), he said, if you really love the girl and serious bout her, get married first before leaving for Canada, then if naa naka did2 (take note ikaw ra usa ni adto una), you can sponsor and process her paper for her visa para mu apas xa sa Canada, it will take around 6 mos. only, he even advise me na be stable first sa Canada aron di na mo mag lisud before letter her go after, in that way, you can save time, effort and money of going back to PH just to marry her then balik napud ka Canada for the processing of her visa....hope this helps

    BTW, just saw sa tv patrol last night na mas ni strict na jud kuno ang Canada on their guidelines for granting visa esp. for the skilled, may nalng naka lusot pako hehehe, FYI

    it is because of the changing job landscape sa canada karon. they are now experiencing somewhat flooding of applicants (fast track plus the older/slower system) and the changes in work demands there in canada. Mao nga sa fast track nga 38 priority jobs and down na to 29 and the quota is also in place na. As what i have heard karon, even architects naa na sa 800 ka applicants starting June 26. Thats in a matter of few months lang. So doul nalang sa 1000 cap nila for the year. How much more sa nurses? Strict na pud sila sa system mo migrate plastaranay na daan sa requirements unlike sa previous system pwede inanay ang dagan sa requirements.

    This is also reported 2 nights ago sa abs-cbn tv patrol manila.

    $495/mth to live in a basement?? RIDICULOUS. In that price, you can get yourself a very nice room.

    It's really difficult to get a basement/room for $300. If you can find one though, but most likely the place must be sucks. To tell you honestly, don't get a basement. It's very demeaning, horrible, and depressing; living underground it's like those Jewish families in WWII dwelling in a attic to hide themselves from the Nazis. It surprised me most because it's a common trend for newly-arrived Filipinos here are mostly living in someone else's basement.

    Hi FAQ, are you staying in Calgary? well, maybe its just for my initial landing, since I'm still transferring, I don't mind the thought of it, maybe it will be for the meantime while I will still be searching for a job or maybe finding a better place to transfer. Anyways, would you know the price range of a decent room for rent in a decent place that is near the bus stop, malls or other significant places?

    @mini, thanks for the info
