A little bit of information regarding 45nm - nanometer (Penryn) from Intel. Really informative. Though the countdown is outdated and the blog is old it is still a good read. Check the blog it got lots of new and information from Intel, including the Nehalem and 35nm architecture Check out the little video from youtube at the bottom, very simple yet detailed explanation sa pag explain. Intel rocks!

You did say "people" might stop overclocking you should have said that 'I' might stop since you said it your self above, do not speak for other when you mean it only for your self.
60~100fps is good enough, but never more than enough.

Nope 100fps is far from "too fast" i would even love my games to run at a constant 100fps since it looks and feels very smooth. unless your playing a very old game there wont be any fast forwarding issues.
How is rendering 100fps a waste of electricity and life span of the processor, when 2 of the same processor running the same game at different settings one producing 50fps and the other 100.. how is that supposed to increase cpu lifespan or reduce electricity consumption ?

Incase you didnt know, i dont even have a single benchmark tool installed in my system.

    Nanometre

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A nanometre (American spelling: nanometer, symbol nm) (Greek: νάνος, nanos, dwarf; μετρώ, metrό, count) is a unit of length in the metric system, equal to one billionth of a metre (i.e., one millionth of a millimetre), which is the current SI base unit of length. It can be written in scientific notations as 1×10−9 m (engineering notation) or 1 E-9 m (exponential notation) — both meaning 1/1,000,000,000 metres.
