it's all about the story, importante talaga ang story and how it is presented... if they only work out the story well-- they might have a better blueprint to work out their films... sa akin lang, sayang talaga ang pagod at puyat sa pagtatrabaho ng mga tao mga pelikula but the finished work actually speaks for itself.

I still remembered the MMFF controversy kato gi switch ang envelop then gi sulod sa bulsa and extremely obvius to the audience.
the guy who did that was also extremely dumb.

After that controversy waala nakoy salig ana mga award2x sa manila.

winning an award doesnt matter if the film is very good then the film itself speaks thru its audience whats exactly the film achieved.

anyways,

BLUE MOON

so what attracted me to watch this film was becuase it is a PALANCA screenplay.

what is a PAlanca?it is an award winning body for literature, from poetry to theater,
recent palanca winners from my memory is Crying ladies, La visa Loca and Mondomanila.
And I've always enjoyed what the Palanca has to offer.

ok, so I watched it, and I have to admit it, it's decent.
nindot siya ug story, pero na ruin lang siya ug BINAYOT ug OA kaayo na directing (weak directing)
the director really had to rub in the CORNYNESS, kung naa unta toy instance na mu work na ang scene without the excessive wordplay and ka badoyan.

example:
kuha si coarazon ug balde para i-saw ang mga leaks of raindrops from the ceiling, unya lingkod siya kay sad siya, ingon dayun cyang Mark Herras
"Akala ko aayosin mo ang lahat?..."
(ok na unta to, that line and scene somehow drived home the metaphor of their unstable relationship..pero gi dunga-gan man ug...)
"Akala ko aayosin mo na ang PUSO ko!!!balh blah blah" *CRYING
(ay, bwesit, naguba...na OA na...)

another example:
duwa silang tago-an

"hindi pa ako tago! habulin mo muna ako"
*nag habulan...

Some of the actors though were a bit wooden in their delivery of their lines, ,ura man hinuon ga play, i dont know kung mao nay intention sa film, pero maypagka Kiwaw siya pag ka buhat.

just forget about the Aerial gunfights, im through with nitpicking on pinoy SFX. nindot siyag Production design na na capture niya ang nostalgic feel. I like the musical score of the film, pero naay times na na sobra-an siya, but no biggie.

in the end, I kind of enjoyed the movie, pero back in my mind, this movie would've been better with proper treatment sa script, cause feel nako, if i read the novel, nindot cugro gyud siya and very poetic. pero there are some things that needs a bit of skill in translating from book to movie.
