imo pasabot boss, functional testers? depende sa company process pero oo usually functional testers mu adtu sa client nya mangayo ug data and information regarding the scope of the testing they are about to do. this is also with other types of testing, like performance testing, ang mga performance engineers/analyst mu adto sa client unya mangayu ug non-functional requirements/data/information nga magamit nila sa ilang testing.

or ang imong pasabot boss kay functional testers which gather data because they are doing static testing "planning phase" sa project? nya mas grabe sila ug contact with the ba's pra sa mga information.

all in all boss, depende sa imong role kung tester ka ug ikaw ba mu buhat ana. pero more of a mid-senior level ang mu buhat ani. sa ako lang nabantayan ha.

sa karon akng trabaho as tester/quality engr.. usa ra ako masulti .. you have to love your work para dli kapoy ug bug-at sa imong dughan.

some are born to be programmers, some are testers. Whatever you may be working as, you don't have the right to say your better and you are doing more than what other people do. the market is broad and there are lots of people doing some small things but earn more than us. some do some really hard things but earn less. they are better, they are richer but you wouldn't know all these things by just saying what you do and that you are better.

basi nagka liko2 akong ininglis. hahaha. pis.

sa ako lang kumpanya karon, ang devs namo kay amo gi tudluan ug testing. ang testers gi tudluan pd sa devs. and that is pure team work. result kay mas nindot ug quality ang software nga among gi deliver. kay highly critical software/info man gd. at all sides of the cube risky. so kelangan high quality. dli lang sa dev part or sa testing part.

    *bow*

You cant release a Product without any testing, Panahon ni Mampor pa nang development nga way testing phase.

    As Tester.

Wrong, How can you Properly test sa Software if you dont know how its Build? DILI tanan Testing UI ra.. Dunay Firmware Testing, Unit Testing, Path testing, etc etc that need test engineer to know how to trace and Debug.

And why would a tester FIX the bug nga di man iyang buhat?

Because software developer doesn't have much time to THROUGHLY TEST the software base on my experience. Once mo gawas ang exact output through sample TESTING.

Move to tester nana ang develop na software. After that if no bugs/loopholes. for approval na daun para update.
You cannot FIND all the Bugs for a Software nga Ikaw mismo naghimu, Mao nay CARNAL RULE sa software Development - MAO PART sa development and TESTING.

The salary between Tester nad dev in a certain company MAY be Different BUT its IGNORANT to say that in our Current SOFTWARE development industry, TESTING is NOT an important part sa Success sa isa ka Product. UNLESS we are talking about Website nga Isa or Duha ra ka Page...

best example for this is security testers (sw tester ghapon ni sila). Some companies they are earning 2 times sa devs. pero most of the other companies kay more than the devs jd. they are highly specialized testers. They started as QA/swtesters and worked their way up with international certifications about security/hacking + experience.

pero naa pud mga specialized developers like someone I know from SG nga naa na ron sa Australia which was my colleague on my previous company nga she was earning more than her manager. she was a .net developer with 10 MS certifications. karon ambut nalng kaha.

saktu ka sa ikaduha nga factor. but this should be the first and will be depending on (experience-skillset) kun mag hisgut man ug “pay/rate”

"Simple" scenario pra less complicated .... sa usa k project naa na cya allocated nga budget if ikaw ang head (provided you have the access to the budget) ana nga project k you have to pick a team (dev/tester lng ato focus pra to stay on topic) to make the project happen. To spend the budget wisely you have to distribute it among your team. Kung sa tan.aw nmo k ang responsibility k parehas ra so e split nmo 50/50 ang sweldo sa dev n tester, if you think its a 70/30 or a 40/60 so let it be.

Mag depende na sa company kung how they look at you as a contributor sa ila company. K sa business perspective if you contribute more means more money. Mao na gaan kag bug.at nga responsibilidad k nag expect cla nmo to contribute more to help the company earn more money....

If your a test specialist with high responsibility so taga.an kag insakto pud nga sweldo, if dev specialist pud ka.... aw taga.an pud ka imo sakto pud nga sweldo.

Kung ang nahitabo k you think nga mas dako ang responsibility nmo as a tester kysa dev or the other way around?.. Then re-evaluate your status for your next move.....
