Like I said in my post, if we consider ourselves a democracy and wanna tell other countries to follow us like our President did recently to China, then everything should be done legally. If you wanna execute criminals, then get Congress to restore the death penalty instead of supporting this kind of shit that makes us laughing stock of our neighbors.

The existence of criminals makes the state lawless already by definition in Philippine setting .

The effectiveness of the LAW is justified in the figures and statistics of CRIME RATES .

There is still a LAW for these criminals thats why they are to be arrested DEAD or ALIVE . Dead because the rules of engagement are to be applied and alive so they can be tried . Vigilante style killing is too 10 years ago bai .

In the case of the " vigilantes " involved in " summary execution " if ma proven na guilty pod sila , they are also liable for their actions and should be tried because they are not above the laws . Now where can we see that we are a lawless state ?

i dont think death penalty is feasible at this time with a president that acts like a dog to CBCP, not in this administration. I personally believe that the death penalty was a GOOD thing, criminals deserve no sympathy like the OFWs that were caught as drug mules or any criminal offence that was committed, they deserve it, g.tolerate rmn pd na sa government ang mga ofw nga e.bitay uie . they should respect laws of other nations when they are in its territory para walay gubot saon pinoy bisag sayup buhaton ghapon..

While what you say is true, just in what way does vigilante killings, which are themselves crimes, not worsen the lawless state that already exists in parts of the country? Doesn't adding more crime to crime, worsen it? Like I said, if there is public support for this kind of thing, then it should be legalized that way rule of law is maintained not destroyed.

I don't think you are in the majority because if you were then our good VP wouldn't be sent flying to China every time a drug mule is about to be executed. The fact that he does it, means he knows most of the public are against these executions. That's why he does it, because that's what politicians do, pander to public opinion... just my 2c..

^This country claims to be a democracy but has a serious lack of secularism, that's why. These politicians have been around the block and they very much need the support from the church in order to gain. So without regard about the deficiency of the penal system (and necessity of capital punishment), they'd rather get the nod from the church and society will continue to have these grievances. Why can't we just admit that we have a state religion. sheesh.

IN the case if you let or should I say involved politics , do you really think VP Binay was really concern like deep in his heart portraying such sympathy and concerned ? He was there to negotiate maybe and it was a win - win situation for him . If the subject was spared , he ( VP Binay )is a hero . If the subject was excuted , he ( VP Binay ) again looks and smells good because he tried his best and showed such angelic actions but have we considered also asking ourselves , does he really care ? Mao nay gitawag ug , trabaho lamang walang personalan in its purest form of core definition .

Now back to the topic ... indeed , its form of a desperate move maybe but it has contributed such effectiveness and can be seen right on what is Davao City now . A no nonsense action speaks clearly and doesnt need the majority . What is confirmed though is that there are more than me appreciating this kind of work and for the record , there are lots of us . Heck if ako makasakop sa drive by shooters , I dont mind either embedding them with hot lead at my own expense , at my own convenience because the mere fact that these criminals doesnt observe our beloved LAW , you will never know . Ako or ikaw Mr. Monroy and our loved ones could be the next pulutan sa storya kay na headlines na ta .

If Duterte will kill the criminal, do you think he is lawful to kill a criminal? if so, then he is also a criminal.
