If I can call that feeling love, then it was Susan Roces.

I was this high --- in my kneepants --- and Susan Roces was already the Susan Roces, the great Sampaguita Pictures icon.

I went to her movies --- from Carlos Vander Tolosa's "The Big Broadcast" to "Tindahan ni Aling Epang" to "Susanang Daldal" to "Susanang Daldal versus Amaliang Mali-mali" to many many more.

The truth is that I cried a river in many of her movies. I even fancied to have a theme song that would tell my love for her, "Autumn Leaves." And I wrote her a letter everyday

She did not answer a single letter. I refused to believe she did not recieve any one of those.

In due time, I lost interest in her. But, then, at that point in time I was already smitten by another Sampaguita Pictures star. Her name was Jean Lopez.
