I agree... roman catholicism is a false religion. not only by doctrine but also by practice. if we can still recall the writings of Dr Jose Rizal ... prior to that the death of Magellan, they brought us a religion whom they used to enslave our grandparents... sad to say after 500 years... the religion is now embedded in our culture, part of our lives throughout the year and many believed its a godly religion without learning the truth of the protestant reformation, the spanish enquisition, and many horrendous events in history where roman catholicism played a major part especially in the massacre of millions of jews and children... sad to say we as filipinos embrace romanism to the core while sexual abuse of children continue all over the globe... "born catholic, i will die a catholic" saying will surely send this nation to hell... may God have mercy upon this nation.

Truth aside, there is no meaning for anyone to just start a new "born-again" religion because he cannot agree with the current traditions of the very very very very old Catholic church.

Imagina ra gud, sa kadugay sa simbahang katoliko, with the many brains and faithfuls all pursuing to build the church, do you think ingana gyud sila kalayo sa tinuod, plus ang bibliya, wala nay updates or patches.

Aren't you just running away? The Roman Catholic church can proudly trace its roots back to the apostles. Ikaw diin man ka gasugod?

We don't know the extent of deterioration sa Roman Catholic, but the same can be said to all the new Protestants, Born-agains and etc. Being old or new, deterioration is bound to happen. Wala ta kibaw sa mga current nga paginterpret sa mga bag-o nga groups, they might take to too literally or pwede sad sila bullseye but then depende gyud na sa tawo nga nagbasa.

One of the points of religion is feed our spiritual thirsts, the illusion of the truth might make us feel secure about our beliefs but it is the methods that are being provided that are allowing us to satisfy our spiritual hungers. If a man can feel totally cleansed after a confession, then I think it is safe to say that his religion has served its purpose. Who are we to judge, even if it might just be placebo or a perspective. If a ritual helped us calm down our conscience, who can tell us otherwise.
