And to think that Lexmark engineers doesn't design SOCs, prototype them using VHDL and verilog, doing all the design here in Cebu even down to the silicon level? The Americans gave us these, because they trust our capability. What do you know about us that makes you hate soo much about Lexmark?

Are you up to the task? I want your hardware specs also. remember our technicians at baguio could do it for you...u should know this stuff kay taga lexmark man kaha ka....coz lexmark in conn. do some vibration test for their printers......
Mr. Ramsfield sir if you say you're good as you think you are. Don't ever criticize something for which you knew nothing about. Our engineers in Lexmark are as competent as the engineers in the US, Lexmark has hired the cream of the crop. Having left the company and now working as a Firmware and Image Science consultant for Eastman Kodak now, I knew for first hand whos capable of doing the task and not, I knew this because I have Australian, Japanese, Indian and Singaporean engineers that are currently working with me. Now we are sourcing people from the Philippines since we now need engineers with very good design capability - design SOCs from the ground up, even extending the design level down to the silicon level, and you would be surprised to find out that  out of the 10 slots we source from around the world the 7 who are highly qualified are Filipinos. I just felt the urge to defend my previous employer and their employees from being called incompetent engineers, since I owe a lot to them. When you're calling us Filipinos as incompetent, you're putting an insult to us all.

I dont want to interrupt the good flow of discussions here but let me just comment that since the U.S. has chosen the Philippines as one of the outsourcing countries to handle the backbone of these operations it just tells you that the Philippines has a very competitive and highly skilled workforce. We should be proud of that. Also the Philippines is the only English fluent majority country in Asia and well-educated I'm sure that's one of the key factors they've considered.

A line taken on an article from a US magazine (Business Week)

"Design work is another place where Filipinos have and edge, according to Sigelman. He says he has found incredible depth of design talent in Manila (Philippines); the kind of talent that is hard to come by in Bangalore, Hyderabad, or Chennai."

Who says we Filipinos are not competent. We even outsmart them!
