    @malaysia - bai, pag-post sab about high rise residential condominiums in Davao City because I have not read about high rise residential condo in Davao City from other threads. I've seen a pic one time but only a sprawling type of building but not a high rise building. Bai @malaysia, is it true that the market on high rise residential condo has not been tapped yet as of now because many rich people in Davao City prefer to buy houses/residential units in a community-type villages etc.? You know bai @malaysia, this was the case in Cebu City 10 or 12 years ago when rich people did not buy the idea of having a "condo unit" as residential purposes. Thanks to the many investors in Cebu who took the risks at investing this kind of business. You see, high rise residential condos in Cebu are mushrooming everywhere because it has captured the confidence of the "can-afford" public that having a condo unit is a good investment. Moreso, many rich people from outside the city buy condo units in Cebu but not actually living in them, instead, they are using it as their vacation residence to save money on hotel expenses and some, have them rented to yuppies with high-paying jobs, balikbayans and expats/foreigners because they can make money while they're away. I'm sure one of these days the "condo consciousness" may change the minds of the rich people in Davao City. However,"condos" may not be an effecient investment in Davao City because it has a huge parcel of land that can be developed into a community-type villages where most Davao City people prefer than a high-rise residential condominium. Unlike Cebu City where it has a small land area, so it is rather practical to put up high-rise residential condominiums than a community-type villages because bigger land area is scarce within the main city. Anyhow, I hope that investments on high-rise residential condos will also pour in Davao City because this makes Davao City not just a city but "a bonafide city". Here are some thumb-pics of residential condos in Cebu:

    there are no high rise buildings in Davao. Most of the people there invest on Residential and Commercial Estates. I cant also see the need of high rise condos when there's still a vast land to be developed within the city area. High rise condos are being built in Metro Manila areas and Metro Cebu considering the limited amount of land. Since the developers cant go wide, they build and develop properties horizontally.

    @Tj-Mixxed - what I meant on "bonafide city", I did not mention it with technicality. I was just trying to express myself regarding my ideal city in which for me must have a physical changes such as nice skyline etc. Though, I'm aware that there are nice and developed cities around the world without any high-rise buildings. Literally, "bonafide" means "legitimate" but it has nothing to do with my statement. ..... just expressing my thoughts... sorry for the slip-up !

    @bai diehardbisdak...

    sa imo ng giingon, wala pay need maghimo ug highrise condos sa davao city, tungod kay abunda kaayo ug real estate dri... mas ganahan mopuyo ang tawo dri sa 300 sq. m. with backyard nga balay kay sa mag saka saka ug elevators. sa karon naa lang 3 highrise condos ang davao pero mostly office condo (landco, pryce tower ug metrobank tower). building higrise condos are inexpensive solution to a crammed city kay mag budget lang ka ug 500 mllion pwede naka maka tukod ug 20 storey building. pero kung village, 3 billion is just for squatters resettlement area. pero kung sa plano, naa nami existing bai ang Riverfront Corporate City sa may MAA, Davao City. last year ni sya gi ground break mga next year ang expected locators mag tukod so naa na mi hulaton nga mga highrise condos pod kung huna hunaon bisan dili pa gyud "NEED" in my opinion.

    mas prefer sa davao mosulod ug entrance nga ingon ani..

    unya mopuyo sa kabugnaw sa hangin diri.

    some of popular posh villages in davao are royal pines, monteritz, laz terrazas, insular village, ladislawa among others... dili pwede magtukod ug balay diri nga less than 15 million at current rate. si sharon cuneta naay 40 million house sa monteritz, si sen. pimentel naay 30 million house sa royal pines, sen. ramon revilla sa laz terrazas, dawn zulueta sa royal pines morag boom ang posh vilalges dri kay sa karon naa pay mga 10 kay villages under construction (bloomsfield,south pacific,etc.), dili pa gyud kalusot ang highrise residential condo. pero ang city government nag plan nga ang mga squatters nga i relocate sa future highrise condo na kay makabarato man ang city. ang problema basin highrise nga walay elevator pod para sa mga squatter hahahaha.
