it's possible, come to think of it, we've been a country for only less than 500 years (most of which was spent under foreign rule) while our neighbours could trace their history to 5 millenia beforehand

i wont be surprised if we'll break up into smaller states--or be absorbed into a larger state--in the future

    if that prediction might happen................

the question is who will absorb us?

shall we go back as a U.S territory, Spanish Colony, or another country?

and if we will be divided into states through federalism............. when will it be?

but I guess this country won't last until the next century if Climate Change continues.......

all tropical countries will become barren........

southern parts of USA will become deserts............

Canada will be the world's richest agricultural country and..........

Greenlands Icesheets will be the world's most fertile forest.......

where's the Philippines? we'll be wiped out of the map and will be unlivable........

Pursuing your own idea is not bad, but ignoring the ideas of experienced individuals is not only unwise, it's impractical.

    I disagree with this statement.

Just because you're old and experienced DOESN'T make you better than the other.

Now, back to topic. Well, I have nothing to say. Just, LOL to one hundred years and beyond! I'm too optimistic to make this ruin my 100 year ahead plans.

I didn't say that being old makes someone 100% better than someone else. I'm talking about statistics here, and probability dictates this as being true, regardless of opinion. Otherwise, natural selection would have not been possible.

Now show me the exact prob stat results and I will believe you. ( with actual numbers that is.)

Our opinion varies. I stick to mine.

Fret not about tomorrow. We don't know what the day may bring forth.

.... I like the thought of Cebu Republic, though. Still, just a thought.

I admit that I can't produce any study/research on this at the moment (though I know that such studies exist in the socio-anthropological circles). The best example I can provide at the moment is for one to simply take a look back at the lives of ancient people's and how tradition has been passed down orally or in written form, records of accounts from village elders and those who have accumulated enough information and wisdom to survive the harsh living conditions of those times. Ergo, we exist now, because of certain decisions they made, based on the accumulated knowledge of those people who have grown old enough to have experienced certain things, and the decisions that led them to survive longer than those who didn't know enough to still be alive.

I know that those times could prove to be incomparable to today's much-improved living conditions, but if it's true that the "say" of elders no longer matter in the present day times, then I do wonder why there are still a lot of disillusioned young people out there who thought they knew about life, when in fact the only way they could have found out about "what life really is like", was to live through that life, and look back at all the things they've done, when they're already gray and old.
