You should know that the catholic teachings have been shaped not just by the long-held traditions of the early fathers of the church but by the resistance of people who found no sense to some or many of it....read your church history. When one opposes or challenges a teaching, you don't try or condemn the person for what he believes...you defend it in the same spirit and faculty.

^^ In addition, hands, understanding the natural world has always been the strength of Catholic thought and research. So to speak, science has been a hallmark of catholic education for centuries. I may not be a catholic but I envy the diligence of the catholic church in pursuing the physical sciences to strengthen their faith. This was what I believed to be the thing that the institution I used to serve was bereft of yet I don't know of any biblical or theological injunction that affirms it to be a ground for being an "apostate of the faith." I take no offense for such label though.

yes, yes.. very true, i agree..

most of the forerunners in the middle ages, 15th century up to 20th century, on science and math were of roman catholic origin.. from copernicus, galileo, newton, kepler, even einstein converted to catholic "faith".. probably for immersion purposes into the american society..

Now now, you are getting me wrong sir, all this time my response was on your side, I was against the fact that those "guys"(whoever they are) somehow decided to apostate you. I won't go on details why my response is on your side, I'm sure you will notice it(you should have).

Sir, I respect you, and with regards to that matter, that is what I am trying to do. Please try to re-read my post(no offense) I am, on your side.

A painful product of that putrid inquisition.

Honestly, it is not a sarcasm. I'm sincere with that, if we have to live in this world where the two(science and religion) opppose and we have to enjoy the luxury of science and bitterness of faith, least we could do is to try to reconcile them.

Not to brag sir(thought unavoidable with the minds around here), this is what I was trying to imply with my line
to see what's in the abyss between science and religion?
. See I too have the inclination, that somehow, science as an unquestionable fact can also be used to prove faith and promote it to a consciousness similar to that of science.
I don't know of any biblical or theological injunction that affirms it to be a ground for being an "apostate of the faith".
Maybe there was, as for me I won't care more. Such matter should not be the concern of our church today. But them doing that to you, addressing you of something (could be or could be not), they must have a basis, but again, I won't bother myself.
I take no offense for such label though.
    I sympathize though.
