Star Cinema makes formula driven movies. Movies na who's formulas are tried and tested na mo kita sa masa. This is why Star Cinema is definitely earning more than GMA films. Ever noticed how Star Cinema's RomCom (romantic comdeies) have the same plot over and over again lain2 lang ug artista? because mao man ni ang mu kagat sa masa.

You also cannot compare the 2 kay Star Cinema existed long before GMA Films was there.

GMA films for me has made some really quality movies like Muro Ami, Deathrow, Jose Rizal, Sa Pusod ng Dagat. these are the films nga non formula driven. and this for me is what sets GMA films apart. Di sila mahadlok mo make ug films na gamay rag chance ma box office hit or mu kita sa sinehan, as long as they have a good story.

Being a movie buff, i don't care much about the stupid network war. Maskin asa pa na na movie outfit gikan as long as it's a really quality movie, then i'm for it. Ever noticed why The Road is earning less than Won't Last A Day Without You? Because The Road is non-formula driven why WLADWY is. This stupid network war is causing the quality of the Filipino movies to decline. Less and less brave filmakers are coming out.

GMA's The Road was a box-office disappointment and that film lost to Star Cinema's newest release in the local box office. In fact, The Road grossed barely HALF of that other film's gross.
