I happen to know somebody, very close one, who thought she had lost the ability to love. Her feelings became numb due to unfortunate past relationships. She became a man hater, took men for granted and find them of no use and no place for this planet, she didn't value their existence and found them merely toys. I was sorry for her... but when you come to think of it, she didn't really loose the ability, she tried to keep at the back of her mind.

The feeling is inevitable and it can never be lost.

I don't think think that we will loose it - we may have the tendency to fear falling in love but not loosing it. we may have the tendency to avoid loving as it is a complicated feeling but we don't necessarily loose it.

But if we do loose the ability to love - we would be the perfect machine, not capable of attaching ourselves to another human being thus we can do everything that is deemed to be wrong, or in that case you can do anything because nothing is wrong... we are like animals or machines, we can do what we are programmed to do...
