Well, in the present repressive regime, any time and place and opportunity to air a protest is the right time. Nobody can easily get close to GMA, surrounded as she is with her storm troopers at all times. She won't listen to anything that is not favorable to her anyway. You have to be quick and seize every opportunity to get her attention. Which was what Pangilinan did. She got GMA's attention and ear. And that of the nation, too.

And finally, Pangilinan is the employer of the President, one of the millions of citizens paying her generous salary and other perks, as well as those of her retinue. The President and her assistants are the servants of the people. Therefore, the people, Pangilinan among them, have the right to tell her what they think of her. As employer, they have the right to fire her. And that is what they have been telling her all along-they want her to resign.

Her classmates should understand that.Â* If they dont, then I dont think this country will hava a bright future ahead.

this shows some people's ignorance of the essence of democracy.

remember, anybody else's freedom ends where somebody else's freedom begins.

Why are we so selfish? " My graduation is ruined!" Cmon, how many people whose birthdays, wedding anniversaries, weddings, reuninos were ruined because of some events that cant be prevented. Things happen like that. Like you are wed to someone else and someone shouts ' Ihunong ang kasal." Would you say omigsoh you ruined my wedding.

And just because a speech of a immoral person was interrupted one could say everything is ruined. Whats about with your graduation. Is a speech of the guest speaker the end all and be all of your most important day in your life. This overreaction! This is plain hypocrisy.

You could still enjoy your graduation because the importance of that day does not depend of what happened during the ceremonies but the four years you have been toiling to get that college degree. The speaker has nothing to do with your success.

I say putting too much stress on what Theresa Pangilinan is doing misses the entire point. With or without that interruption, the graduates already earned their reward of their hard work in college. Not because someones speech was interrupted by an expression of democracy.

GMA is only smarting for that embarassment of which she truly deserves.

exactly! why was she so selfish? out of the whole graduating class, she thought only of her sentiments. those graduates did not dress up for her to spoil the event. mind you, it was a graduation ceremony - not a Bash GMA Party!

if so, Ms. Pangilinan shouldn't have made herself nor the speaker the highlight of the occasion. again, it was a graduation ceremony. in other words, a ceremony for the graduates. the speaker is not part of the equation.

no, Ms. Pangilinan missed the point. the point of a graduation ceremony is to celebrate the culmination of all the years of scholastic hard work. where is politics written there? NONE! and why did she have to spoil that?

so, what can you say about her parents, mr. mosimos?

    WATCH YOUR ATTITUDE!

For me, I view it as some kind of balancing of interest. Which interest would prevail? The interest of a few graduates whose sentimental value of a graduation ceremony was interrupted? Or the interest of the Filipinos to ask accountability from a person who claims to be elected, to know the truth and to ask the answers from an elusive leader.

The issue of legitimacy is something, we post edsa 1 and edsa 2 Filipinos should seriously take. Complacency breeds marcosian tendencies. After we oust a dictator who rigged an election, this caper of GMA should not just be brushed aside. She should be accountable somehow. Since she is dodging the issue to the point of mocking our laws and our democratic institution, she should be prepared for any retaliatory act from the people in any means. SHe has no right to complain because she caused this infamy and unpopularity and disdain to herself.

The fact that the speaker of that day is an elected ( or is it?) official makes the entire event tainted with politics. Let us not fool ourselves that GMA is there like Bob Garon or other inspirational personalities. She is there to promote herself. To carry the propaganda of the government. Ms Pangilinan found a golden opportunity to express her frustrations and disgusts against GMA. And I dont think there can be other occasion where she could convey her feelings than stealing the scene from GMA.

I see no point why people wopuld insist that Pangilinan should have done it in other venue. It was the perfect occasion to launch an attack on the person who has no moral authority nay ascendancy to even speak before them.

Ambot lang kaha lagi og usa ka sa graduates adtong adlawa og imo ba cya gihapon i proclaim nga "hero".

The girl is a student leader and an activist.

For me, those kind of person should not be given much publicity. The problem with our media is that they give attention to things like this.... talking about adding fuel to the fire.

Miss Pangilinan's act was an act done out of her convictions. She spoke out when others chose not to. It just goes to show that this youth is not in any way cowered by intimidation by school authorities & gov't. agents.

it's really amaze me that people does not like the girl who they think have destroyed the essense of a graduation ceremony... but yet find the charges of the person who is accused of cheating the elections as just nothing... and just say "WHAT IF SHE CHEATS... WHO DOES NOT?"

    hahay...
