One windy afternoon, Zoe my female golden retriever kept on barking. Nagpatagad.



.... so I looked out the window. This is the view from where I work on my PC:

Zoe: Mama! Pagaw-sa nami. It's time for our daily walk!

Nina: Saba-a ni Zoe oi! Lami kaayo ug katog, kay hangin kaayo dinhi sa Busay.

Zoe: dali na mama! let us out!

Keanu: yeah we want to run now. I'm so bored here.




Mojo: Awoooooooo!

Hi, yup they are still puppies. There's a very big misconception that Siberian Huskies dili mu survive dinhi sa Pilipinas and that they are high maintenance dogs. That's not true. Yes, they enjoy the cool climate but they will ADAPT WELL to whatever weather, just as long as you give them the proper dog food and clean water.

Even if you research, daghan man huskies in hot countries and they adapt very well. Just because they are known as sled/snow dogs, doesn't mean dili sila mu survive sa tropical countries. Not all parts of the States and Canada have cool climates. California, Texas, Florida, Mexico and the southern parts init pud biya and daghan pud ga alaga and breed ug huskies didto.

If you come to think of it, mas taas pa biya ang hair sa Golden Retrievers, Chow-Chow, some German Shepherd lines with long hair, Shih-tzus (compare nimo sa size sa dog)...diba, mas taas pa ni sila ug hair kaysa husky?

Like all dogs, you have to feed them well, provide water para dili ma dehydrate and give them some exercise. If you put them in a cage, ensure that naa siya sa shady part. If you walk them, dapat dili init (just like any other dogs...do not subject them to direct sunlight.) Yes, the huskies will appreciate the electric fan or occasional aircon on a hot day---but dili ni siya required. All dogs, lami-an gyud basta aircon (maski kita, hehe) pero survive ra man maski wala diba.



Regarding grooming, dili gyud high maintenance ang husky. Some breeds have longer hair which easily tangles compared sa husky... plus the other breeds even shed more. Huskies don't smell bad too, thus bathing & excessive grooming isn't required all the time.

2 case scenario---- Husky A stays in an airconditioned room all the time but the owner feeds him unhealthy food (junkfood, table scraps, bones etc) and kalimtan pirmi ug water and other basic needs of the dog; Dili siya ipa-exercise sa owner because ma praning ang owner kay dili siya ganahan ma-initan iyaha husky. 24 hours naka aircon or electric fan. Poor husky, na overweight na & wa gyud nakatilaw ug outdoors.

Husky B, stays outside the house/living room but is fed with quality dog food, provided with clean water, loved, played with and groomed when needed. Mas munindot gyud ang gawas sa hair and body sa Husky B, (thanks to the good diet) mas healthy and mas happy husky
