I personally think people shouldn't stop buying what they need to buy, but lessen the purchase of the things they want to buy. There's a big difference there.
For instance, why should you "tipid" on food, nga sige lang man diay gihapon ang imong pag inom ug pag sigarilyo? Wala'y gamit imong pag save pag ing-ana imong style diba? Mas maayo, maintain your food budget, but lessen (or better yet, totally stop) your cigarette and alcohol intake.
Then again, naa pod mag sige'g sulti nga mag tipid sa food, pero you're still riding your car/motorcycle. Why not take public transportation?
There are other examples like this. Again, I still think it's pathetic to keep promising yourself to be thrifty, when the main issue man diay is you cannot let go of the things you want.
