you only understand the phone....
BUT you don't UNDERSTAND the MARKET......
if your MMS is really that good.... ALL THE 3G infrastructure should be FULLY LOADED with MMS coming the going..... BUT IS THAT HAPPENING?
NO NO NO.... MMS failed...

support is DIFFERENT from USING IT.....
OPERATORS are embracing the IPHONE... since it will make very good use of the 3G infrastructure... so OPERATORS can RECOVER the AMOUNT they invested in putting all those 3G BASE STATIONS...
They hoped MMS will help them earn and recover their investments... MAYBE if many people were like you using MMS.... they should have recovered their 3G investments....
BUT MMS didn't take off.... their 3G network REMAIN UNDER UTILIZED....
understand the market.... you think MMS is a must.... think again....
you said they never heard of it there...not true...admit that...
bottomline, it may be failure to you...but its useful to me...
a must have feature on any phone i will consider great today
without that level of flexibility and compatibility, its a 2nd rate device for me...
again believe what you want but you can't contradict my claim that i personally use it...
and so does thousands/millions of others out there from those articles...

hehe, cool lang mo bro's. Very interesting reading for the rest of us.
Either way, maybe both of you are right. It really depends on what the user uses the most. If you don't need it then don't pay for it - but if its free, then happy to have it right?
I've had the opportunity to travel a lot to different countries using different systems and I think having the flexibility of different technologies is better than being limited to one. I am not very techie and same with the people I communicate with. The Iphone is a great device but, MMS is a great tool to have when you are giving instructions to your not so tech savy personnel. Its also great for them to use to get the boss to make a decision on a field mission using their not so expensive phones.
If they have to use email vs MMS they would need to get more expensive phones, subscribe to 3G or get back to the office first to communicate, not to mention subscription fees. Not so good for quick communication when they need to reach me. I do use both MMS and email on my SE phone for all my staff to be able to reach me anytime.
But then this thread is about the Iphone 3G and it is a neat device especially if they are able to launch in the Philippines at US$199. I would get it at that price - but then now that Mark points out that no MMS, I am thinking twice.
I never said MMS is better than Email. Of course Email can do more with pictures than MMS. But there are people who are "technically challenged"... like my older brother for instance... He doesn't use the email feature on his phone because he is just not used to it. This may be a simple matter to us but for some people they find it complicated. So whenever I have to send a picture to my brother I have to MMS it and not email it.
Hey if all people were smart with gadgets like us, I wouldn't argue with you to junk MMS. But unfortunately, NOT ALL people are good with gadgets.
Peace ^^
