Come on people, stop all the "OA" comments, coz it's stinking of CRAB MENTALITY...
Let's be happy that our beloved Cebu is finally getting some long-needed facelifting and beautification... Whatever trapo is behind it, it still makes Cebu a better place for us and our children...
However much this is a "covering-up" of all the dirt and stench, it still helps in the long run, as more foreigners will want to visit and maybe invest in Cebu, so let's all just work hand in hand, and stop being bitter and calling the preparations as "OA"...
Whatever little boost in economy this will have on Cebu will still trickle down to everyone, so let's just bite the bullet and help to make this event happen!

As per my sources, only 10% of the summit will be held in the CICC... It will just be more of a "breakout" area for the summit.

do you know how much new equipment we have to buy in order to cater to the delegates' needs?
do you know that we have to prepare special food for special delegates' diets?
do you know that we have to convert numerous rooms as breakout meeting rooms for the delegates?
do you know how many rooms we have to convert into baggage storage?
do you know that we all have to go through security clearance with the NBI and PSG?
Plus numerous other changes and movements that I'm not privy to say...
So, are you telling me that hotels charging a little extra for these changes is still "abuso"...?

^^^ If you mean ang CICC mura ug late ra kaayo ang pag prepare.....dili jud nato ma blame ang governador kay pila ra jud ka buwan ang gi tagal ana para pag tukod........kung naka basa mo ug news sa una pa jud....actually myanmar man unta ang mo host karon....pero ning waive sila sa ila chance..............so instead of reklamo ta...support nalang gud ta gud........

“quite a number” of people who want to join the BIS, set on Dec. 7 to 10, are hesitant about coming to Cebu because of the high rates imposed by hotels starting next month....
...three hotels in Cebu City that will charge an additional $60 to nearly $100 a day for accommodations next month....
...this is the nature of free enterprise and that one of the reasons Cebu’s economy is growing rapidly is “because the City Government does not tell them (businesses) what to do, including lowering hotel room rates.”...
