a very good example of humility is RAUL.......he's very cordial in his statements, he is the leading scorer in champion's league history but wla gyud mo kadungog nga nanghambog.....he's one of the reason why I stuck with Madrid......
Raul is a good player but swerte ra sad siya kay he belong to a good team like REAL but if you will look at the number of games he played in the Champions League he doulbes the games played by Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Currently he is second to Raul in the record but if you will look at the ration of goals to number of games the Ruud is more effecient. He is lucky to play more games but I think Ruud will catch up....

you are right Von, if Eto'o is indeed that good a player then he would have won or even nominated as FIFA Player of the year, but he wasnt even in the top 5.Â* Ronaldo in Eto'o age was more devastating. He wasnt called THE PHENOM for nothing.Â* Comparing Ronaldo against Eto'o is such a waste of time, hehehehe.Â* Someone shoot me please.
Yeah your right it just a waste of time.... Ronaldo may be one of the greatest footballer of all time. But i never heard any news of Eto'o's proclamation. Anyways Ronaldo has already passed his prime. Just remember that Eto'o is stiil 24 years old and he was the leading scorer of LA LIGA last season..

    Cole set for Real deal

LONDON (AFP) - England full-back Ashley Cole is set to leave behind English Premiership side Arsenal and join Spanish giants Real Madrid in a cut-price move at the end of the season.
Cole, who was involved in a notorious 'tapping-up' affair with Premiership champions Chelsea, reportedly has a release clause in his contract which stipulates he can leave Highbury for a modest fee, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 24-year-old Cole, who is currently sidelined with a broken foot, signed a 12-month extension to the remaining two years of his deal in the summer after the affair.
His secret talks with Chelsea cost him a 70,000 pounds (122,000 dollars) fine and his relationship with the Gunners hierarchy has never recovered.
Real are reportedly interested in Cole as a successor to Brazilian wing back Roberto Carlos.
Wow. Is this a possible trade? Carlos to Arsenal? Nice! heheh

TO ADD HYPE TO THE GAME THIS WEEKEND!!!!
    Six memorable Real-Barcelona league matches

MADRID, Nov 18 (Reuters) - Six memorable league matches between Real Madrid and Barcelona:

    1973-74 Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 5

Playmaker Johan Cruyff revolutionised a Barca team that had not won the league title in 14 years and led them to a crushing victory at the Bernabeu, a result regarded as Real's most humiliating defeat in their own stadium.

The Dutchman put his side 2-0 up with a brilliant solo effort. Picking the ball up in his own half, he weaved around a bemused defence before slotting the ball past keeper Mariano Garcia Remon from near the penalty spot.

Barcelona won the title with five games to spare. - - - -

    1984-85 Real Madrid 0 Barcelona 3
Barca took on a distinctly British tinge in the mid-1980s with new coach Terry Venables bringing Scotland striker Steve Archibald and then England's Gary Lineker and Wales's Mark Hughes to the Nou Camp.

Archibald, or 'Archigoles' as he became known, got off to a dream start when he scored one goal and had a hand in two more as Barca claimed an emphatic win at the Bernabeu. They cruised to victory in the league title race.

Two seasons later Lineker scored a hat-trick in Barca's 3-2 win over Real at the Nou Camp. - - - -

    1993-94 Barcelona 5 Real Madrid 0

Mercurial Brazil striker Romario grabbed a hat-trick as the Catalans, managed by former player Cruyff, crushed Real at the Nou Camp. Barca were handed their fourth title in a row when Deportivo Coruna defender Miroslav Djukic missed a last-minute penalty against Valencia in the final match of the season. - - - -

    1994-95 Real Madrid 5 Barcelona 0
A sweet victory for Real as they avenged their 5-0 defeat of the previous season with an equally conclusive win of their own at the Bernabeu.

Chile striker Ivan Zamorano got a hat-trick while Emilio Amavisca and Luis Enrique, who later became a Barca favourite when he moved to the Nou Camp, weighed in with the others. Real went on to win the league ahead of Deportivo. - - - -

    2003-2004 Barcelona 1 Real Madrid 2
The previous derby in Barcelona had been marred by incidents surrounding the return of former idol Luis Figo to the Nou Camp and his appearance on this occasion was no exception.

The Portugal midfielder got a vitriolic reception the first time he played there for Real in 2000 and was showered with missiles, including a pig's head, two seasons later.

This time he had the last word as he helped Real to a first league win at the Nou Camp in 19 years. Barca got their own back with a 2-1 victory at the Bernabeu later in the season. - - - -

    2004-2005 Barcelona 3 Real Madrid 0
Barca produced a sparkling display of fluent, attacking football to outclass their rivals at the Nou Camp.

Former Real player Samuel Eto'o, rejected by his old club at the start of the season, made the most of a defensive mix-up to open the scoring as he darted between Roberto Carlos and goalkeeper Iker Casillas.

Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst made it 2-0 after a slick passing move and Ronaldinho completed an emphatic win by smashing home a penalty after the livewire Eto'o was brought down in the area.

MADRID, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Real Madrid striker Ronaldo is raring to return to action in Saturday's match against former club Barcelona after over a month out with an ankle injury. "I've undergone 20 days of very intense treatment and have done three or four training sessions and now I'm ready to play," the Brazilian international told a news conference on Thursday.
"I'm happy with what I've done, I feel good and I'm ready for the game although it will be up to the coach to decide how much I play. Like the rest of the team I will be at 100 percent for the match."
"It hurts when you can't be there to help the team," he said. "But it's a long season and the important thing is that we are still up there and have a good chance to win this game, earn ourselves more points and then go on to win the league."

The 29-year-old Brazilian dismissed suggestions that in-form Barcelona were the overwhelming favourites for Saturday's clash at the Bernabeu.
"I don't think there are any favourites. I've never seen any team win a match before the kickoff, not Brazil, not Spain, nor any other team.
"We don't have to prove anything to anybody. It is a game that is worth three points just like any other and we have to make sure we win it especially as it is at home.
"We have the quality to beat any team in the world."
Responding to comments from Barcelona players and coach Frank Rijkaard who said this week that they hoped Ronaldo would be able to play, the Brazilian replied: "I wonder if they will be so happy after the game."

He also had a message for Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o who will return to the Bernabeu for the first time since insulting his former club during the Catalans' title celebrations at the end of last season.
"Eto'o will get the reception he deserves from the Real Madrid fans. He said things that weren't very intelligent.
"You have to understand the Real Madrid fans. I have been jeered many times in my career and I don't know how he will be received. But the fans have to give an example just like the rest of the club."
Eto'o chanted derogatory comments about Real into the microphone during a speech at the Nou Camp after Barca won the title last May.

@fingolfin, tnx for the info......im crossing my fingers now and praying for a Madrid victory.......

    Damn, Barcelona overwhelmed Real 3-0...

Despite having Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane back from injury, Real rarely threatened the Barca back four and were jeered off the pitch by their own fans who had little choice but to marvel at the ease of their opponents' victory.
