Skully, any information on who Miss SU 2010 is? From where? Course? and who are the candidates from the other colleges?![]()
Miss Silliman = Ela Clavano (School of Basic Education - High School Dept.)
1st Runner-Up = Aesha Eleyna Villanueva (Institute of Clinical Laboratory Sciences - Medical Technology)
2nd Runner-Up = Marian Vanslembrouck (College of Nursing)
For the nth time, the High School Department representative of Silliman University was crowned this year as Miss Silliman in the hotly-contested beauty pageant of talents and wits Tuesday, at the jampacked and biased crowd at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center in Dumaguete City.
Ela Luzuriaga Clavano bested 12 other equally beautiful and talented beauties from other departments and also hauled in three other minor awards, as Ms Photogenic, Best in Talent, and Best in One-on-One interview.
Her court includes Ms Nursing Marian Vanslembrouck who was 2nd runner-up and Ms MedTech Aesha Eleyna Amigo Villanueva as 1st runner-up.
Villanueva also garnered three minor awards: Best Speaker, Best in Pre-Hispanic attire and Best in Filipino attire.
The Darling of the Press award went to Ms Law, April Joyce Seville, Ms Congeniality to Ms Performing Arts Kimberly Ann Cual Cimafranca, while Ms Computer Studies, Feb Navarro Rodriguez, was adjudged Ms Professionalism and Best in Casual Attire.
Former Miss Silliman beauty queens posed the questions and one of the more interesting ones were on the August 23 hostage-taking crisis in Manila Monday.
The chairman of the board of judges is also an Outstanding Sillimanian Awardee this year, Lucy Jumawan Sauer.
The beauty pageant this year was a production of the Silliman University Student Government on the theme “Ang Pagsibol Ng Bagong Filipina”.
Silliman University's Founder's Day was really fun. During my time, it was boring. This year, I enjoyed the parade, Miss Slliman and the cheering competition.
Way to Go SILLIMAN, KEEP IT UP!
Proud SILLIMANIAN!
God, I could just remember my days at A Co, 1st Plt (ROTC). We were the model platoon and as such we were "encouraged" to BE THE MODEL for the other platoons... Imagine, di mi pwede mo-lingi˛, katawa/ngisi, mangalot during parades kay all eyes are on us.
Pinaka-kapoy namo kay SU Founder's Day parade ug Dumaguete City charter day parade. hehehe
