i don't have answers maybe not smart enough either but obviously you're searching for something..
and i'm a 100% sure that it is God that you're looking for,though you would deny it or maybe you don't even know it yet...these questions that you have is proof enough that there's an empty space in your heart and there's no fame,wisdom nor wealth,not even the whole world could fill that space,'cause only God can..and the never ending longing of man for something that lasts forever which often times being misled by greed and jealousy or simply just by trying to reach something is proof enough that we are meant for something far more than this world,we're meant for everlasting 'cause God is everlasting.
there are christian amputees too,maybe millions of poor christians as well,a lot of christians are suffering too and lot of their prayers aren't answered as well but maybe they were but not on our perspective but on God's perpective..what i'm trying to say is christians and other people who doesn't believe in God go through same struggle and hardships every single day.
and for me,as a christian.i know that i will never be truly happy in this life 'cause i'm not meant for this world..maybe i would live a long life or not and maybe i would suffer in a great deal in this life or in a different manner..i don't really know..but what matters most is that when this is all over.i will be with my Father in heaven.Our Father in heaven and that's where we belong and by faith i know there will be no more tears for we are with Him.
if we are born poor,it doesn't necessarily follow that we should be unhappy.because we have the gift of freedom.we can be poor and bitter or poor but happy..that's the difference between a poor christian and a poor non-believer.my friend, what i'm really trying to say is that i would rather struggle here on earth and have everlasting life with God after my physical body dies

but surprisingly, the percent is higher than i calculated, even u search in the web.
when i was in grade school, ive had this book about religion, i was surprised on one of its page saying, majority of our world today is non god believers’. illustrated in a pie, elaborates a percentage of religions against non, which i recall 40% don’t believed in gods, sa una pani, and recently Ive read somewhere in the web about the survey...

I believe there are a lot more non-believers out there than we'd like to think. Daghan mga "closet atheist" who couldn't come out of the closet for fear of rejection in society. These "atheists" continue to go to Church every Sunday, para ba kaha maka fit-in sila, napugos para dili ma disappoint ang loved ones.

I would even go as far as to say there are priests out there who are closet atheists. Wala hinuon ko'y proof ani, pero seriously, kung mutuo ta nga tanang pastor/priest diha mu tuo ug ginoo, mura'g imposible ra pud kaayo.
