Another defeat for the inconcsitent REAL MADRID. I think this will be the picture all throughout the season. Most of their best players are aging and have injury worries to attend to. Go BARCELONA!!!! We are now ahead by two points on REAL. RONALDINHO is still the best player right now!!! I think they will catch up on the leader. I can't wait to see the REAL VS BARCELONA game....

hopefully they will win this week at Real Betis......

MADRID, Oct 29 (Reuters) - Real Madrid moved top of the Primera Liga after goals from Robinho and Alvaro Mejia clinched a 2-0 win at struggling Real Betis on Saturday.
Brazil forward Robinho, a $30 million close-season buy, scored in the 30th minute to settle Vanderlei Luxemburgo's side, who had lost their previous two league games.
Former youth team player Mejia made sure of the points with a second-half header.
Hosts Betis and Real fielded unfamiliar sides due to injuries and suspensions.
Real were missing Brazilian pair Ronaldo and Julio Baptista, England midfielder David Beckham and France playmaker Zinedine Zidane through injury.
Betis were without winger Joaquin and defender Melli, who were suspended, and injured Brazilian midfielder Marcos Assuncao.
A frenetic opening period left little room for constructive football, though Betis posed the biggest threat with striker Ricardo Oliveira sending a header wide of the post early on.
Real took the lead with their first attempt at goal.
Raul's square pass on the edge of the area found Robinho, with team mate Carlos Diogo stepping over the ball, and the Brazilian curled a low shot inside the post.
The home side's Brazilian forward Edu headed against the post in the 77th minute but three minutes later the game was effectively sealed.
Guti lifted a pass over the defence and Mejia, who had only been on the field a minute, raced into the area unchallenged to head past Toni Doblas.

    la lagi standings:

    osasuna 21
    barcelona 19
    madrid 18

this is the reason why spain is the best league in the world. There's always something to watch, surprise teams i might say. Who would have expected Getafe and Celta Vigo or even Osasuna taking top position in the early season. Unlike in the EPL which is getting boring by the week, the domination of Chelsea is ruining the entire EPL. If you're a chelsea fan then of course you'll have a smile a mile wide but for the sake of the league, its going down the drain. That's what analyst have been trying to predict, the entry of Roman-the-russian Billionaire- Abramovich in the EPL will soon kill it. Finally, it has arrived.

Not neccesarily bai. Lingaw sad ang EPL oi. Who'd expect Wigan to be at 2nd place and Tottenham is getting better and better. And who'd expect Man City to be ahead of Man United in the standings... I'd say both are good leagues but I'd have to say the ECC always brings out the best of all the club teams.

Guti scores as Real Madrid beat Rosenborg to qualify

TRONDHEIM, Norway, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Real Madrid qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League with two games to go on Tuesday when they beat Rosenborg Trondheim 2-0 in Champions League Group F.
An own goal and a strike by Guti earned Real the victory and nine points from four games, three behind Olympique Lyon who beat Olympiakos Piraeus 4-1 away on Tuesday to also seal their place in the last 16. Rosenborg have three points and Olympiakos none.
Real Madrid went ahead in the 26th minute when Rosenborg defender Mikael Dorsin knocked in an own goal as he ran back trying to intercept a cross by Robinho.
Spain midfielder Guti made it 2-0 in the 41st minute with a shot from 14 metres after latching on to a ball bouncing free after Robinho was tackled inside the area.

Real Madrid centre back Ivan Helguera will be out of action for two to three weeks with a muscle strain in his right leg, club doctors said on Wednesday.

Helguera suffered the injury in training on the eve of Tuesday's Champions League match at Rosenborg Trondheim and faces a race against time to play in the Primera Liga game with arch-rivals Barcelona on November 19.
Helguera's injury means Englishman Jonathan Woodgate is likely to retain his place in the starting lineup for this weekend's league match at home to Real Zaragoza.
Vanderlei Luxemburgo's squad has already been weakened by injuries to Ronaldo, Julio Baptista and Zinedine Zidane.
