your formula is very misleading kay you account those cost items based on WHAT YOU THINK...NOT REAL PRICES.

That is real DATA... collected by the US government updated WEEKLY. SPOT PRICE.

you say SPECULATION.. I just don't get these figures from thin air...

Scale of purchase wouldn't even account for it.... you think buying large volumes will give you a huge discount 2-3% at best thats all you get... 5% thats fine with me....

how did I reach 2 pesos per liter for transport.... look at the price in Manila(Shell, Petron, Caltex) compare it with Cebu (Shell, Petron, Caltex)... the difference is 1 pesos only... so tranporting fuel will add 1-2 pesos per liter... I am in fact being generous... while you can't give STRAIGHT Explanations...

My point is -- you assume that you have factored all cost items to arrive at such price conclusion. That's my point...What I explained earlier were just only studies presented in the past that gave light as to how we look at fuel prices under those conditions and never did I mention that they are to be considered absolute bcoz I don't have any formula to figure out the effective retail price per liter.

your computation is all based on assumptions...and it is useless for you and me to agree on the correct numbers since we DON'T HAVE THE FORMULA yet. Suggest you ask the DOE or petrochem companies to help you with it.

@ AJOL ..... ayaw lage i compare ang pricing sa NY ug sa CEBU kay lahi ang octane na gi compare nimo . Imohang gi example ang bottom of the barrel quality sa gas sa US compared sa high end na gas sa Philippines . Gamita to ang pricing na almost $ 5 sa US per gallon , you do the math and let me know ... that $ 5 a gallon I am talking about is the one equivalent sa imohang 44 PHp na gi cge ug sulti diri .

You will be amaze if you test the octane rating of the fuel here.... its not what is advertised...

besides I already said There are still gas dealers selling Regular Gasoline comparable to the one I quoted and its even 1 pesos cheaper.

Reminder lang... its a GLOBAL MARKET.... you can't say not to compare... because everyone is comparing prices....

that is why China gets more orders for Textiles than the Philippines because they give a cheaper price.... so Comparing countries when it comes to pricing is VERY RELEVANT!

Thats how you determined the pricing of the gas in the octane rating mister .

So no matter what , an almost $ 5 a gallon na 92 Octane sa US , compare that sa 95 na octane which is our XCS kung mag Petron ka at the price you always advertises , 44 PHp .

I am just reminding you to compare prices on OCTANE because that is where you gage the quality of the product . Alangan man ug I compare nimo ug original na Levis manufactured in pasong Tamo sa fake na Levis from China ? Who is cheaper ? Philippines noh ? Aw China diay .

Why do you base it on octane rating...... Even the octane ratings in Shell, Petron or Caltex are doubtful.... a BMW engineer TOLD ME THAT base on their TEST on fuels sold in the philippines. HE said fuel here contains lots of impurities... only Petron was good enough....

So its STILL RELEVANT to compare the 2 prices. REGULAR Gasoline. if you say that Regular Gasoline in NY has a lower octane rating.... There is also Regular Gasoline here which is CHEAPER also with lower octane rating...

Everheard of GLOBALIZATION Its RELEVANT to CHECK PRICES anywhere in the world.... so you can get the best DEAL... That is why CHINA is an Export power house because it gives you the best price....

while we get THE WORST DEAL in Gasoline prices. NY or SINGAPORE is CHEAPER

    Wrong .

Octane rating is where you measure the quality of gas thus reflects its value in the market .

I post daw diri ang pricing sa gaoslina to include diesel say sa PETRON na pricing sa Cebu .

Imohang gi compare ang pinakabarato na gasolina sa US sa 2nd to the most expensive gasoline sa Philippines mao ikaw naka conclude na its cheaper to get in NY . Mao lage na akong gi pasabot compare the US 92 octane to the Philippine's 95 octane . Its just different in numbers but the same formulation of that specific octane .

Octane ratings here are for Marketing purposes only.......

Octane doesn't give you quality.... additives are the one that make the fuel burn better thus a higher octane rating.... so its the additives that pushes up the price.

    Octane is for the burn...

    Quality is in the purity....

Talking about quality... its all in the impurities in the fuel....
Fuel sold here has been Tested by BMW.... Lots of impurities.... meaning it won't burn efficiently and the octane rating goes down...

Grabeha nimo ... dugay gyud ka pasabton . When you go to gas stations .... naa ba kay awto or magpa GASOLINA ba ka ? What kind of GAS do you prefer and how much do you pay per liter for it ?

The moment there is an additive to up the rating ... that means , a higher price . The gas your motor burns are what you pumped in your vehicle and that is the specific OCTANE you got for your car , depending on what you prefer and can afford . We are nnot talking about PERFROMANCE here , we are talking about your silly MATH EQUATIONS regarding a cheaper gas in NY than in Phhilippines .

    talking about diesel.....

it 2.7845 based on the said link http://tonto.eia.doe.gov/dnav/pet/pet_pri_spt_s1_d.htm

Its even low sulfur diesel...(much more expensive to make)

While the diesel sold here still has high sulfur content....

diesel in Petron is 38.70 per liter

2.7845 per gallon X 44 = 122.518 pesos per gallon or 32.37 pesos per liter.....

    $1=44

NY diesel is CHEAP and its even LOW SULFUR....
