Nothing can surpass the "Queen City", not even the "King City" can. But at least, the Queen is lenient and is willing to give the King some good advises to at least become economically prosperous
- If I didn't know you're Filipino I'd really think you're Singaporean. Singapore is economically prosperous. Manila? Na. Cebu? Na more...hehehehe
I dont know who gave them the title "King City" .
- We are King because Mt. Apo, Philippine eagle, Durian and well Waling-waling (queen) are Kings. Why are you Queen?
Oh my! There seems to be no end to this debate. For Us, Davao will always be the best. For you, it will always be not. Where it seems "economy" is what matters most, why are We so pesky insisting on believing that our City is King (metaphorically) when it so obviously behind yours as evidenced by it's lack of vertical concrete and steel? Well, I don't claim to represent all of Us but I believe I share the same sentiments as most of Us. So here is why: 2440 square kilometers of fertile land and a leader who ventures into hell to ensure that his people lives in heaven. We are so proud of these since they are unique to us. It's plain and simple that it's just pride. It's a kind of Pride that is more than one keeps for his hometown (everyone naturally is proud of his home no matter what). I see no other way how we pluck up the courage to stand up to you or even Manila. Economy is a factor in determining which city is best, indeed. Is it solely? Hardly. Economies can be grown. And we have an economy to boot, albeit not as vibrant as yours for now. Can you grow fertile lands and good leaders? With God's intervention, perhaps. What do you have that we don't? Tall buildings of course. What else? Tourist spots? Na we have a lot of them. We have more than you would like to admit and they're natural too. Location? Na. I don't think that's your advantage. Population? We have 2 million day time population and growing fast. Leaders? Na. I'm not even enumerating what we have that you don't. So what is it that you have that makes your economy surge past ours? Nothing really. In fact, it's Us. We have something that slows down our economy. It's pretty well know throughout the world. It's no brainer what it is. But if you haven't got brains you ask around.
you are right davaoB... why banging around. don't compare each other. we are still part of philippine island.
this is one of the reasons why we are behind of our neighboring countries. we are not united. crab mentality perhaps is the cause.
Here we are again....lots of grammatical error, haha, as i said, PAGBINISAYA na lang lagi or study harder.. ok ra na, yaw lang pagtrying hard gud..
*- If I didn't know you're Filipino I'd really think you're Singaporean. Singapore is economically prosperous. Manila? Na. Cebu? Na more...hehehehe.... Davao? na na and a lot na more....
Reading Comprehension check please.. this is a no debate thread any longer..dili na ni "Asa nindot puy-an Cebu or aDavao" thread, so stop bullsh******.....
Use your brain not your mouth..![]()

CEBU, Philippines - After years of struggle and toil, the Cebu based Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation (ERUF) now stand as one of the best emergency units in Southeast Asia.
As they celebrate their 25th anniversary on September 13, the group looked back at how they started with only few old junked vehicles at their disposal during emergencies.
Dr. Jesus Ravanes, over all chairperson of the ERUF silver jubilee celebration, told The FREEMAN how proud their team is to have become one of best emergency teams in Asia.
Ravanes said they have exceeded other emergency units in Metro Manila, Makati and Davao City with their relentless efforts in the past years.
They are the only accredited and recognized medical team by the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) based in the United States of America together with another emergency medical service (EMS) team in Hong Kong.
NAEMT is a professional association representing all EMS practitioners, including paramedics, emergency medical technicians, first responders and other professionals working in pre-hospital emergency medicine throughout the globe.
In their aim to “serve so others may live,” ERUF has worked the path of sacrifice and true service as they are now recognized by various agencies in America and the European Union.
Though with only minimal supports from local government units where they serve, volunteers have exceeded what the forefathers of ERUF have dreamed in the past – to be world class.
Since 1986, ERUF has grown in terms of manpower, accomplishments both locally and abroad. The group which started with only 24 men has grown to an army of 300 well-trained and selfless personnel.
ERUF has also extended their world class knowledge by training barangay volunteers in Paramedic Training operations like the very active Pardo Emergency Rescue Unit.
With over 31 vehicles used in various purposes from emergency response and rescue, ERUF is one of the most equipped EMS team in the country. Although they said they are just 75-percent equipped, but no other teams have come close to what they now have.
ERUF RUN
In celebration of their 25th year of existence, the ERUF will host an “ERUF 161 RUN” on September 11, 2011 to raise funds to purchase new portable defibrillators to be used in their day-to-day operations.
A portable defibrillator, which costs P500, 000, is a machine used to shock victim’s heart into action after cardiac arrest.
With such machine on each of their 13 ambulances means more lives could be saved. ERUF is asking the public to support their endeavor for the benefit of every Cebuano under their care.
The run will have 12K, 6K, and 3K which will start and end at Mandaue City Reclamation Area, across Park Mall. The course is fat and fast and will be ideal for all ages. The run will start at 5:30 a.m until 8:30 a.m.
Prize will also be awarded to the top ten over all male and female runners in each category while special awards will also be given to the best in costume, the oldest and youngest runners.
Interested participants can register for only P250 at their headquarters in Banilad Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City Hall, and the Cebu City Sports Center. — (FREEMAN)
This will be a never ending debate. That's a fact. Its not enough to feed facts to people who can't compare reality from imagination. Why not try to research more, I myself have been to Davao so many times. Population? Yes you have a lot but I don't think all of those 2 Million people would matter when it comes to employment. Why? How many universities does DVO have vis-a-vis Cebu City ALONE? Don't **** with me, you may have a larger population but only a meager percentage of those people are viable part of the workforce as compared to Cebu. Cebu's 12 universities (perhaps more?) produces more skilled labor than DVO. We don't have a large area like you, yes. Cebu is a sea-locked island with nearly 0% arable land, yes. Cebu has poor roads, yes. Cebu has a smaller population than Davao, yes. DVO and Cebu are comparable in terms of tourist attractions, yes.
Everything's a yes, but see, why does Cebu continue to excel than DVO? Why are we the premier tourist destination of the country? Why are we the second largest economy in the country? Why is ERUF one of Asia's best in emergency response? Where's your 911? Lost in the horizon? I can't tell. Why is Cebu the richest province in the country? Why are so many davaoenos migrating to Cebu to school and land a job? Can't your BIG and PROSPEROUS DVO provide the jobs for your people? Another thing, LOCATION is not an advantage? Really? Cebu's strategic location is one of the things that makes it attractive to business. Arable land? Farm and fertile lands? We don't have much 'cause since time immemorial, Cebu has been dependent on TRADE than agriculture. Our land is not suitable for farming. But why are we still miles and miles ahead of you if you have so many FERTILE land? It's like comparing SINGAPORE and the PHILIPPINES, obviously, PHL has more potential for agriculture than SG but why is SG still ahead of us? Why are they so rich? That's the case, Cebu's land may not be for farming but we sure have the single largest industrial, commercial and manufacturing base in the country after MM. Can't your more progressive City provide sufficient job opportunities for the davaoenos? Leaders? Leaders who do trash talking in front of the media? Is that what you call an ethical and good leader? Don't brag about your arrogant public officers who think they own Davao and use fear as an instrument for obedience. DVO has the most number of extra-judicial killings per se in the Philippines care of DDS. Am I right? Lastly, Don't argue that DVO is ahead of us 'cause, by basis of reality, you're not. Davao is growing, but Cebu's not lagging either, in fact, we're getting faster each year. I'm not even surprised why Cebu is now the premier MICE destination in the Philippines and the hottest tourist spot of the country.

Davao City - 2000 sq. m. of land with 1.4 million population
Cebu City - 200 sq. m. of land with 800,000 population
It's the density that counts on how big and vibrant is the City...plus with the addition of adjacent cities like Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, and also Talisay that makes a perfect metropolis![]()
