well if your gonna say that then i might as well say htat the lord of the rings books are great
but the movies not really
it was 3 movies of walking and gay inuendos between sam and frodo
then on the third movie they drop the ring in "plop"
the end

but no
they had to drag it too long which kind of bored me
so id take horny potter any day over the hobbit couple

From the book to the movie, it's LOTR for me. Peter Jackson did a great job with this one, from the miniature sets, costumes, creatures, etc. You can't really compare these two works; one is pure fantasy set in a fictional world and the other set in London with a modern-day wizard theme. Both are fun to read in their own way.
