Simple living as in not giving out sacrifices for your country?

Just a little change and you over react?
You exagerate and go out into the streets yelling and
abusing "People Power" just because you have the right

Well ask your self first. Dont the county have the right to improve?
Dont the country deserve some respect and be developed?

Does having your rally and yelling on the street helps the economy?
It doesnt. Coz by doing such activities your bugging the business
    district!
By doing this your not helping the coutry at all.
Instead your pushing the country down to poverty.

    Dont you guys get it?
Im no pro-arroyo nor an anti.
But i do appreciate the change that shes doing.
    Take for instance EVAT.
Its a small start for a change.

For if we dont participate in this change
    then when will we start?
Will we go out and replace the president again
    and again and again?
You think your fighting for the rights of the so called "MASA"?
    No your not.

When will the country start to improve?
    When will our economy rise?
Just because we are very selfish and dont
want to spend more for our country?

Its all a matter of sacrifice.
Its a sacrifice worth for the comming generation.
I dont see any disadvantage if we participate in this change.
Its not gona take our freedom away from us.
Instead its the path to the improvement of our country.

    So before you react...
    Pls do ask yourself first...
Is it the government or is it you
who is the burden of the country...

Its just me. A 19 yr old kid who dont know
anything about politics but who appreciates
change and is willing to sacrifice.

Will that make me not credible enough?
First, I love this country very much. I'm actually nationalistic.

Second, 19yr old is not a kid. I am so aware w/ all the things happening to the country & my vigilantism started even when I'm still 13yrs old. That was way back in high school when i was the only student who reads (almost daily) the economic progress of the country through business & current event magazines & newsletters. U should be well-equipped w/ all the things happening in ur country by now. Ur nearly graduating college.

Third, i never go to rally (not even once) but instead i tried to do my share for the country.

Fourth Together w/ people unsatisfied w/ our politicians, we are not fighting for freedom.. we are fighting for good governance that we deserve..run by sincere hearts. People above personal power.

Fifth What? Arroyo did something good? Don't make me laugh! And of all good u said, it's EVAT? I wont educate you about this. But just try doing a business, and ul see how good EVAT will help you. Good luck.

Sixth Yes, im willing to spend for my country, even my whole flesh..but not to those sharks out there in seat of power!

Seventh Im a young entrepreneur who love my country very much. Don't ask me good things about Arroyo. I feel the pain she's doing to my beloved country.. for her greed of power. But nevertheless, I will do my part..in praying that the next president would have a pure heart as Pres. Cory & the total will-power to elevate the Filipinos in its own land.

    God bless us all.

I changed the word "american" to "filipino" para maka-relate mo!

Everybody complains about politicians. Everybody says they suck.

Well, where do people think these politicians come from? They don't fall out of the sky.

They don't pass through a membrane from another reality. They come from Filipino parents and Filipino families, Filipino homes, Filipino schools, Filipino churches, Filipino businesses and Filipino universities, and they are elected by Filipino citizens.

This is the best we can do folks. This is what we have to offer.

It's what our system produces: Garbage in, garbage out.

If you have selfish, ignorant citizens, you're going to get selfish, ignorant leaders.

Term limits ain't going to do any good; you're just going to end up with a brand new bunch of selfish, ignorant Filipinos.

So, maybe, maybe, maybe, it's not the politicians who suck. Maybe something else sucks around here... like, the public. Yeah, the public sucks.

Because if it's really just the fault of this politicians, then where are all the other bright people of conscience? Where are all the bright and intelligent filipinos ready to step in and save the nation and lead the way?

We don't have people like that in this country.

Everybody's at the mall, scratching his ass, picking his nose, taking his credit card out of his fancy pocket and buying a pair of sneakers with lights in them!

There's a nice campaign slogan for somebody: 'The Public Sucks.

    RIP George Carlin. F__k hope.

i totally agree with this comment.
where do politicians came from? who voted them?
ang mga politicians mura ug BASURA este BASURA JUD D I... kasagaran tao dnha mga hugawan au pataka lang labay BASURA so mubalik ra gihapon ni ang mga BASURA nato n worst ky MGBAHA pa and BAHU pa jud.
nya cge ta reklamo ug yaw2x ngano MGBAHA ug BAHO KAAU.
so finding the root cause here... asa man gikan ang BASURA? kinsa man sala na kung ngano mgBAHA ug MANIMAHO?
kung tarongon nato labay ang mga POLITICIANS ESTE BASURA i think dili na MGBAHA ug MANIMAHO!!!

Well ask your self first. Dont the county have the right to improve?
Dont the country deserve some respect and be developed?
In what context do we mean improvement of the country? Is it when big businesses are highly profitable at the expense of social justice? Has the majority of society not had enough sacrifice with hunger, homelessness, lack of access to education and health, etc?

ANg sayop lang pud aning uban moreklamo gud, wa kasabot ug unsa gyud ang ilang gireklamo.

Does having your rally and yelling on the street helps the economy?
It doesnt. Coz by doing such activities your bugging the business

Kung ingon-ani kaha ang mindset sa mga tawo during the Marcos regime, basig hangtud karon wa pa ma restore atong demokrasya. Rallies as a form of peaceful assembly is a guaranteed right under our constitution and is enshrined in the UN Bill of Human Rights. Let us appreciate it as a tool to bring about/demand for better social conditions.

But I do understand your distaste for rallies kay moagree pud ko nga ang uban wa gyud kasabot ngano apil sila rally. Ang uban tinuod binayran.

This I can tell you, peaceful assemblies when genuine and done by those who truly understand what they demand/fight for can be a good tool for social change.

    Dont you guys get it?
Im no pro-arroyo nor an anti.
But i do appreciate the change that shes doing.
    Take for instance EVAT.
Its a small start for a change.
I will agree with you that EVAT has its own benefits(for the few). Look at Smart, Sun and Globe. Tan-awa ug unsa kadatu ang mga tag-iya anang mga kumpanyaha, mangawat pa gyud ug load, di mohatag ug saktong serbisyo unya ang buhis gipasa sa consumers, most of whom are lowly laborers.

For if we dont participate in this change
    then when will we start?
Will we go out and replace the president again
    and again and again?
You think your fighting for the rights of the so called "MASA"?
    No your not.
Tinuod, replacing the president again and again and again does not necessarily spell change for the better. Gipul-an na ang tawo ana. Pero let us ask ourselves why? Bulok ang atong social dynamics, halos tanang favorable para ra sa adunahan. Mao kinahanglan na ta mo shift sa atong paradigm from a greed-driven capitalist society to a socially-just nga mga pamaagi.

When will the country start to improve?
    When will our economy rise?
Just because we are very selfish and dont
want to spend more for our country?

Spending for our country so it can improve? Gi-spend na sa masa ang ilang meager income, kulang pa man gane, di paman gane kakaon ug tarong ang ilang mga pamilya, di kapananina ug desente, di kapalit ug desenteng balay, walay ikapalit ug tambal, etc. They have spent more than they can afford. Pero sakto sad siguro ka kung sa mga datu nimo na isulti nga gipalumluman lang ilang kwarta sa bangko.

Its all a matter of sacrifice.
Its a sacrifice worth for the comming generation.
I dont see any disadvantage if we participate in this change.
Its not gona take our freedom away from us.
Instead its the path to the improvement of our country.
Majority of the masses actually no longer have certain forms of freedom because of the kind of social dynamics that we have. Wala na'y freedom to live a decent life, as government is making it more difficult for the poor to get out of their situations. If the current trend of more polarization between the poor and the rich continues, dili dugay ang wage slaves mahimong totally dependent sa mga datu, just imagine unsay kinabuhi sa mga sakada sa mga tubuhan sa Negros.

    So before you react...
    Pls do ask yourself first...
Is it the government or is it you
who is the burden of the country...
Dili lang ikaw, dili lang gobyerno. atong sistema, atong mga negosyante dakog tulubagon sa pagkab-ot sa tunay nga kalambuan sa nasud nga maapud sa tanan.

Its just me. A 19 yr old kid who dont know
anything about politics but who appreciates
change and is willing to sacrifice.

Will that make me not credible enough?
The fact that you do try to make a stand and to express imo opinion is already an indication that you do care for our country. That in itself is a good start. But I do hope you diligently try to find answers to the questions in your mind, be more educated with issues and be open-minded.

Ayaw lang kalain bai ha sa ako comment hehe..

If ganahan ta mosabot sa ato current social situation, I invite everyone to read or revisit Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Ang pinakauna gyud i satisfy sa tawo mao iyang biological ug physiological needs such as food, air, water, warmth, shelter, ***, sleep, etc. Morality, creativity, spontaneity, problem solving, lack of prejudice and acceptance of facts come much later when Physiological needs, Security Needs, Belongingness needs and esteem needs are already realized. (See File:Maslow's hierarchy of needs.svg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

In Charles Darwin's jargon we refer to "survival of the fittest", i.e. man has to compete with others that he may live. In humanistic psychology, we say "man is basically good" in reference to man's inherent nature to try to survive.

    My point:
How much blame do the poorest of the poor deserve if we leave him no choice but become corrupt, e.g. by allowing his votes to be bought by politicians, just so he can provide for his family? He may have income but that may not be enough because the owners of the business that he serves bargained to pay him the minimum whilst they maximize their profits to more than enough of what they need. IF atong istoryahan sa context of Maslow's Hierarchy, the man here is actually following a natural course which is unahon niya ug answer iyahang physiological needs, unya ra na siya makahuna huna sa kung sakto ba o dili iya gbuhat or ug dapat ba siya makonsensiya. George Carlin probably do not understand or may have not been a believer of Maslow. But to me an understanding of Maslow makes us understand our current social condition better.

WEEEE E-VAAT. An idea she just copied from the GST and VAT regimes already existing in other countries for almost a decade. But the problem is, in the Philippines the VAT is 12% whereas elsewhere it is only 10%. So a poor country that cannot afford it, is taxed higher... I wonder why, is it because black caviar and champagne are expensive? Ok, maybe that was a cheap shot, but deserved in my opinion...
