we have been extremely brutalised by the violence in our past (even political), the disruption of families and communities, high levels of poverty and the very high level of violence of all forms.. apparently, much of this violence is directed towards women and girl children - a result of the marked gender inequalities in our society, a culture of male sexual entitlement and climate of relatively impunity in which rape is perpetrated...

the root of the problem of infant rape, as with rape of older girls and women, substantially lies at these more mundane doors.. it should be regarded as part of the spectrum of sexual violence against women and girls.. i seriously think this can only be prevented if all forms of violence can be reduced in our society, poverty reduced, and a climate of gender equality and respect for women and girl-children promoted...

as much as i wanna persecute the culprit myself, but i think the paramount concern here is the victime herself, regardless of those perpretrator's fate the horror and it's aftershock would continue to linger on..

I'm suprise no one mentioned that she was left alone in the vehicle. Don't leave your kids alone in the car or house, even if you're just going out for a minute. Just don't leave them out of your sight, you never know someone might be watching your child too waiting for you to leave. Child abduction happens all too often. "I left my kid for a second and when i came back she was gone" or "i sent her to buy some bread at the market and she never came back". its devastating to everybody in the community when there is child crime that hits close to home.

I mentioned that Beetlebum, u just missed reading it. It is true, as a parent myself it's part of my responsibility to be vigilant against strangers. Lisud na ang panahon karon.

But poor parents hardly notice their kids anymore, pasagdaan lang nila maglaroy laroy, or suguon, ana ygud na typical families in rural and even urban areas.
