it will not require a great ear to tell the difference between this bisrock sound and any professionally produce music. can you tell the sonic difference?

    I do patronize that's why i care.
there's a saying that goes, "when you are rich. there's no need to prove to everybody that you're rich." i think it was you who brought mixing, sound engineers and whatnots into the light. my point is, SOUND ENGINEERING is not an issue whether bisrock is a fad or not, or whether or not bisrock is worthy of being labeled as a genre. stick to the topic man.

but for the sake of your argument, three words: TSK! TSK! TSK!

...or basin sad wa ka kadungog anah bay.

in the first place, this thread is an open topic. see subject. and it was you who brought genre. i'm just pointing some weak points about subject as to why it is still a fad to me. whether you like it or not, SOUND ENGINEERING plays an important role to the overall sound of any music including our struggling bisrock. how good is band without a good sound engineering. it is still inferior without good sound engineering.

o ikaw, nakadungog ka pero nagpa bungol-bungol lang. kay hadlok ma offend imo amigo o unsa... well, imoha sad. or you can bring your best bisrock bet to top studio in manila. let's see what their comments.... maybe they can open your eyes or ears maybe..

Leftists who doesnt like Bizrock because of the language that it carries:

If they’re bisayans themselves, then I find them ironic, shallow, ignorant, western-ass kissers. How could they say it’s bakya? It’s their (leftists) first language! So that means they’re bakya themselves according to their own perception.

    anyway, to summarize my points.

    yes.

double yes. coz they're from sweden that's why they're lumped under the "sweddish metal" tag. if they're from america do you think they would still be labeled as such? nightwish is actually a "finnish symphonic power metal" who borrows elements from gothenburg metal. blah blah blah. anyway, i said "mainly" not "all". there's a thin line there.
also, i want you to dig deeper rather than nitpicking on a handful of "obscurely new" examples. like, how do you think this sub-genre started?? unsa ila roots and origin. weigh the qualifications. usa ka qualifications or similarities aning mga sub-genres nga atong gi-hisgutan is, it is simply labeled or tagged accordingly to where it started...kanah imong mga artist gipangmention bay...clearly adopted their influenced or style maong natawag sila as such.

on the otherhand, i think it's unjustly wrong to rub or impose the guilt of ripping-off on the genre itself, i think sa banda na na mismo. do you blame the all germans for the holocaust? do you blame aimee marcos and ilocos(the dorques kicks major ass btw!) for all the martial law hoolabaloo? isn't that unfair?

and speaking of bamboo, heck even they ripped-off that nescafe commercial they had. the nerve of them to cover a political song(Buklod's Tatsulok) when they're working hand-in-hand for the man(but that's another story). and what about orange and lemons?? and cueshe...don't even get me started. them cashcows. did we blame pogi rock or pinoy rock for such terrible sins?? DID YOU??

    conclusion:
look into the big picture rather than nitpick weak points.

wa ko ga nitpicking dude. im actually trying to explain it in a big picture.

by the way, arch enemy is a swedish metal band because they are from Sweden,True. But they belong to the Gothenburg Genre.

those genres you mentioned earlier became genres because of their distinct sound. ang bisrock kay gi tawag naman og genre gud nga wala paman siyay igo nga iyahang sound para maka sustinto sa kana nga status.

wala man pud ko ni ingon nga tanan bisrock nga banda kay nang rip-off ra... like i said "uban", and im not imposing any guilt. i could blame certain bands but not the scene as a whole. all im saying is that ang uban banda nang rip-off na. wala nalang nako gi apil ang cueshe og orange and lemons, bamboo og uban pana dira kay bisrock man ang nahisgutan. but that doesnt mean ok ra sila. actually i despise any band nga mo kawat og kanta sa uban banda not just mga bisrock. ma foreign man o local.... asta man gani ang limp bizkit nangawat og lyrics sa Nine inch nails.

"Melodic Death Metal" is originally called "Gothenburg sound" not because of the lyrics nor it started from there, but because of the sound. nahimo lang nang melodic death metal kay daghan na ang ga sunud sa style nga dili taga Gothenburg like Nightwish for example. ang kana nga genre kay sub-genre rasad na sa Metal pero somehow naa gyud siya style iya.

naa bay ma sunud o makwaan og influencia sa bisrock? Humorous while socially relevant kay d pud bago kay since sa una pa naa naman na.

Smooth friction og missing fillimon two bands being labelled as bisrock. they dont sound alike or anything that could spark any similarities beside sa lyrics nga gi bisaya. True, na influence rato ang mga banda nga ako gipang hisgut, thats because there was something to adopt.

pananglit lang, kung ako dili bisaya nya nakadungog ko og bisrock nga tukar unsa man ako makuha nga ako e cite as an influence sa bisrock? d man pud pwede ang lyrics.

kung ang basihan d i para ma genre ang lyrics then kato waray2x nga kanta sa una kay Waray-Jazz napud d i to... pag '60s naay american jazz singer (sorry nakalimot ko sa name sa artist) nga nag record og Vynil nga ang sulod puro chabacano og waray ang lyrics. gi sabayan pa gani to ni Ella Fitzgerald og ni Max Roach. og nag exist ang chabacano-jazz or waray-jazz, matawag ba ang k2 nga jazz singer as such?

like i said, i dont hate bisrock kay ga kanta sila og bisaya. d sad ko gusto nga dili na mag bisaya ang banda. i just dont get why its called a genre when clearly it still doesnt have a sound of its own...

and im not just making new examples for the sake of typing one.

conclusion? Bisrock is a labelled term rather than a Music Genre.

    -------fad or not?-------

any music scene turned into a social scene and became overblown and out of proportions is a fad IMO. pag mo hunas na ang ka sikat sa social scene ara na nato ma hibaw an kung ma buhi ba ang music scene niya. cguro magpabilin ang banda nga mo kanta og binisaya, pero ang scene?.....ambot lang

it's not a fad... it think it is a genre. daghan talented na bisrock na band but it is loaded with really crappy bands. and because these crappy bands sa kadaghan nila mao na ma overlook ang uban na maayo. mao guro ni gkan ang impression na bisrock way ayo. ionno... chismis raman sad ni ako na dungan. wakekekekeke...
