i believe going for the laser is the gold standard in hair removal. If I am not mistaken, the whole package costs Php12000 and treatments are spaced one to two weeks apart. after that, they would normally suggest a mild chemical peel like glycolic or tretinoin peel to expose baby-soft skin. And then whitening creams are also applied to even out UA skin to the surrounding skin.

if only I have the budget, i would definitely go for it. in the meantime, i just use sugaring wax or shave. i also use some sort of a UA whitening cream to lighten the skin a bit. indeed, it helps.

In Manila, the gap is between 4 to 8 weeks. The price is 2,800 to 4,000 for axilla

Waxing once a month is acceptable. It won't cause any discoloration or problem in the texture of the underarms

Cherry, yes I have heard about epilator. Isn't it like electronic plucking?

yes ms derma its like electronic plucking.. i think ang advantage nya compared to waxing is you dont have to wait for the hair to grow about half an inch before ka makawax balik... i hope naa mkashare kung asa mkapalit ani... thanks

@ carmie: An epilator is an electrical device used to remove hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. (much like waxing... it removes several hair stands at a time unlike plucking which is one strand at a time only)

@ cherrydoll: haven' tried it and to the best of my knowledge, it isn't available in Cebu yet...
asked at Watson's, Metro Ayala, SM, Rustan's and the response I got was nada, zero, nothing, zilch!

tried waxing na though and although the pain factor is bearable, it didn't seem worth it to pay a high price at the salon and then come back every 2 weeks or so for maintenance...
