What are your thoughts on the Cebu Metro BUS?

Is this a purely government owned system or some private companies has stakes on this? Generally.....good idea.....

thsi is really beneficial for people who live in the south like me because it reduces my normal 2-ride trip to 1. the fare is even unexpectably affordable. and for traffic, i think there are only about 15 of these buses in operation and usually, they only allow about 7-10 to run at one time.

Traffic because there are still alot of PUJs plying their respective route. Unless dili na iparenew ila franchises. So PUJs plus these busses equals more vehicles in the road results to traffic. Every franchise expires kada 5yrs, so dili ka bastabasta maka pa stop sa operations aning mga PUJs. Even if magbutang sila og Bus stops, imagine the capacity of these busses so maybe every bus stop mo load and unload ni silag commuters. Our City streets are not big enough mao nang kinahanglan gyud tag road widening.

If im not mistaken, this is a private company owned and operated by Cebu KMK Transit Corp. mao bitaw the official name for this bus is: "Metro Cebu KMK Bus Transit". Yes, I always choose to ride this bus since thesame ra ang plete sa jeep from tabunok to citilink then aircon pa gyud. This is a preparation for a unified bus transit system that would eventually replace jeepneys. The franchise for this bus kay from Linao to SM (mabolo) pa, they are still waiting for the mandaue franchise. 7 buses out of 15 are currently operating. :mrgreen:

Mao pay pagpadagan aning nga mga Bus, thus ma considered pa ni as on the experimental stage.. I hope that in the few months or years to come, maka come up sila ug improvements. Ayos kaayo ni.

I think it is a better option nga involved ang govt sa pag padagan sa bus kay dili na man mainly kaayo profit oriented so dili bisag asa muhonong ngadto ra gyud sila muhonong sa designated nga bus stop kay kung privte gani mas abusado man kay profit oriented man kaayo just like in Manila. It is easy to control the fare kaysa privately run ang mass transport. It is easy to implement the fare card system just like in SG and it would be easier to integrate the fare card system to newer mass transportation system to be implemented kay usa ra man ka entity ang nagcontrol unlike kun privately run. As long as the maintenance can be assured then a pure govt or semi govt. run mass transportation is a better option.

i really don't think they'd affect the traffic that much. kay if you think about it, if 7 ang ga dagan, and it's traveling from SM to Minglanilla, then you can barely catch one even if you stand beside the highway for more than 10minutes. ako gani, i would love to ride the bus but i'd have to wait for it. ma late na ko ako lakaw if mao na ang kalaki. mao mag jeep nalang ko. i dunno why some think that this will cause a problem.

if ako lang ang magbuot, mas maayo pa na bus nalang tanan ang sakyan sa mga tao. like other countries gud. and the government should just put up designated bus stops. this would clearly lessen the traffic problem. but then again, a lot of people, drivers and conductors specifically ang ma alaot if wa na po'y jeep. plus, it's something the country is known for as well.

How big are these buses? I have never seen any of these buses.
