Good for you na naka learn ka soemthing here sa forums . Maski pila ka tao mo sulti na MICRO na siya , it doesnt make it one and the fact be told , it is still a MINI PINSCHER . Happy dogwalking and posting here !!

nag cge kog sunod2x ani na thread and have been googling sad anang terms na micro, teacup and princess type and all results gyud padulong mo state man na they are runts. meaning wala ni dako. and ang term made up by backyard breeders. ang mag cge gawas sa google kay puro for sale na micro minipin og microdermabrasion (ahehehe pagkalayo!) hehehe

Generally speaking, any breeder that deviates from the standard of their breed purposely is bad news because the standards are there for a reason (health, structure, and other reasons depending on the breed). This is usually a sign that they are willing to compromise in other areas of the dog/puppy/breed. Any breeder who says they breeds "teacup" anything is not one I would even consider as an option.

BECAUSE it means one of two things - either they aren't knowledgable enough to know that there is no such thing OR they have no problem deceiving the general public that doesn't know that there is no such thing. Wouldn't it just be easier to tell the truth and call a spade a spade? Even if the puppy is an accidental "runt" it would be responsible of the breeder to not "sugar coat" it and to just say - "It's the runt".

What they have is a potentially undersized, sub-standard dog. This doesn't necessarily mean it will make a lousy pet, but it will be more inclined to have health problems or structure problems than the standard version of the breed (again, AKC standards are there for a reason and not just because some snooty person said so - the standards were settled on after years of trial and error and lots of research into what was best for the breed in order for it to be healthy and capable of doing it's job). Technically, a "teacup" would be a largely faulted dog and therefore should be marked down in price. My personal view - if it walked into a show ring and the judge automatically disqualified the dog then it should be marked down in price (because it is severly faulted according to the breed standard).

People looking for pets often discount the importance of the AKC standard for the breed. However, this can be a great indicator for you of whether you are dealing with a reputable, good breeder or a backyard breeder or puppy mill. BYB's and Millers often have NO regard for the breed. They are only breeding to make money. They don't care about the quality of dog they produce - and I mean in all areas! (Structure, health, temperament) Good breeders, even ones who breed pet quality dogs and don't show, still worry about the standard for their breed and try and produce the best quality that they can. They also don't use phony terms like "teacup" or call an undersized puppy a "Mini" or "toy" when there isn't supposed to be one for the breed. They are honest and even willing to tell you when they aren't doing something up to the level of where they would like to be.

I would also assume that a smaller than normal Min Pin would have some joint problems (luxating patella especially).

My last point/question - aren't Min Pins already really small? Who needs a dog the size of a hamster? (exaggeration Why the sudden need for everyone to breed dogs so tiny that you have to make smaller pockets for them to fit in...Maybe my problem is that I'm not a teeny tiny dog person - or maybe I just can't see the logic behind making everything smaller. I mean, I know it's a plus with cell phones and computers... but dogs.... do they need to be smaller?
