Erap didn't started Philippines demise but in a way he contributed to it.

We have been at demise the moment we embraced Spanish colonialism. For more than 300 years... Spanish way of thinking and way of life has been incorporated in our culture and looking at it... it really hasn't contributed much to the progress of our country.

If you have read your Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo... the situation then was in a way similar to what we are experiencing now...People who are so occupied with their selfish lives.. You would likewise agree that whoever leader would wish step up to uplift the lives of Filipino would end-up disappointed knowing Filipinos way of life. Rooted naman jud na siya as kinaiya lisod na jud kaayo machange.

What goes around comes around. Look at those countries who have been under spanish colonialism... most of them backward countries jud...

So does this thread imply that before ERAP, this country was heaven? A top rated developed country?

Didnt ERAP win because POOR FILIPINOS, who account as THE MAJORITY OF THIS NATION, thought that he was their SAVIOR

The fact that there were millions of poor Filipinos who voted for him showed that it didnt really start with him. A country with millions of poor, desperate people who are willing to believe anything, including an Actor turned politician as a savior, is a country on its demise.

This sounds like the Filipino is hopeless because of our way of life? I still think that we have enough Crisostomo Ibarra in this nation who can make a difference.

Why is Spain a powerhouse economy in European Union?! Please other former spanish colonies suffered worse compared to us...Spain's last colony...The Philippines..lol And you mention "Spanish way of thinking and way of life has been incorporated in our culture and looking at it... it really hasn't contributed much to the progress of our country." or maybe we didn't use it right while other latin americans countires have higher GDP and Economy than ours.

Mexico- GDP: $1.067 trillion (2005 est.)

    Indonesia-GDP: $865.6 billion (2005 est.)

    Philippines-GDP: $451.3 billion (2005 est.)

Two of the countries( Mexico and Indonesia) are way corrupt than our country.
